Chiellini's criticism comes from the fact he's really retarded in possession and surges forward like Lucio at times only to lose the ball. But his 'defending' actually has been good or atleast improved a lot since the early part of the season.Much better than Bonucci.
Absolutely. Chiello is old fashioned CB, but good at what he does. Bonucci's defensive weaknesses on the other hand, without Barza or Chiello to protect him, would get far more exposed.
This is pretty much it. He is really comfortable on the ball, but by no means is that the sign of a defender who should be starting for a club like Juve.

Again, Bonucci and Chiellini have different tasks in this team. If you don't want players like Bonucci starting for this team, then pray Conte would change to a 4-3-3.
If we're playing Bonucci because 'nobody else can do his job in the 3-5-2' then I think it's more clear than ever, that we need to run away from 3-5-2 and never look back
He's not Maldini, he's not Thuram ffs. Somebody of his 'decent' quality does not warrant a team like Juventus sticking to a system for.
Of course we need a couple of signings to move away from the 3-5-2, but we've got plenty of opportunities to do so.
