You can tolerate a lot of pain at the time as the adrenaline carries you through.

And Juve didn't have any subs left, so he'd have been leaving the team a man down if he went off.

Think, if I were an opposition coach, I'd be pretty tempted to invite Bonucci forward to see if he'll fuck up and allow a counter attacking chance with Juve short of numbers at the back.

Better option than allowing Pirlo to receive the ball and dictate the game, anyway.

One could argue that Bonucci is much more of a liability if you allow him to stay back and make defensive errors, since he surprisingly doesn't seem to give away the ball that much in build-up play.

Anything is better then to allow Pirlo to receive it, but Bonucci is suprisingly adept at running with the ball up, quite controlled with it, and his passing is way better then Chiellini's (who also runs up well, but mainly off the ball). Though its better when he plays it simple then long passes to likes of Pepe or so. Though vs Lazio he had a close call through ball to Quag that was a real good effort.

true, it was in the dying minutes, and lazio was with ten as well. he just looked like he was in incredible pain so given those factors it wouldn't be terribly devastating to leave I suppose, other than the fact that lazio was trying to get one back, but I never really believed they could when all this happened.
