Organization of the defence is important, but still there were clear indiviual errors by bonucci. 3 times last night that Ranocchia managed to hit the ball on target from set-pieces and it was clear that Bonucci had to mark him yet he failed miserably.
Problem is, last night's game wasn't the only game were Bonucci looked extremely Amateur. Almost all of last season he made errors just like last night (with the exception of a very few games) that is simply unacceptable from a professional defender playing for a club like Juve.
Last night the whole team played well IMO, but a defender like him can easily destroy all that hard work with such performance. We're gonna really regret it if we keep faith in him this season and lose many points because of that.

I think after his performance last night it will give Marotta even more of a reason to find a new CB for next season.
Not to say Bonucci cant become a good to very good CB, but at this moment in time we need a hardened, experienced and quality CB to play next to Giorgio next season. Bonucci and Barzagli can be the reserves.

either way bonucci is not at the level we expected him to be in his second season. Obviously he doesnt compliment Chiellini and Chiellini will have to bust his ass even more just to cover him. A CB is needed before a LW I believe. We of course need both but we need to stop these goals from set pieces and corners. If we can eliminate those goals scored against us on those situations thats alot less goals against. SO disappointed in him, I was actually happy we signed him but obviously he was just a 1 season wonder with Bari that year with Ranocchia making him look alot better then what he actually was.
Man, certainly not a good time time to have a bad game (for him).
Have to say Ranocchia last season spell at Inter was really bad. Mistake after mistake each one costing a score against Inter. I believe Ranocchia can turn into WC in the future and that he will be a lot better this year. But his first spell last season was awful IMO. Bonucci didn't have a great season either but all in all it wasn't worse than Ranocchia's.

Bonucci's 1v1 defending looks to be as bad as ever, he also doesn't look like he is even paying attention to what Conte wants, which is to play the ball out from the back. That doesn't mean hit Hollywood balls 70 yards.
We can only hope he finds a bit of confidence because he looks like a passenger at the moment.
