Still like Bonnuci though, the fullbacks are definitely making his job much harder than it should be. He'll grow to be WC sooner rather than later if we get some fullbacks.

Yeah that's true, in the games Ive seen him play recently with the Azzurri you see much less mistakes from him. Thats because he is playing next to some semi competent fullbacks (Cassani, Balzaretti, Maggio etc).

Hasn't had the best of seasons, but Ill reserve my full judgement on him til next season.

His major failing as a defender is positioning, which is a prime requirement for any centreback. He seems solid in the air, confident one on one, but too often caught woefully out of position, after periods of watching the ball not the players around him. Surely it can't be too tricky to teach him to mark properly???? If Del Neri can manage to make de ceglie look half decent, then its definitely possible to make bonucci look truly decent, because he starts off with more in the bank than de ceglie...whose only skills in the past were running and Omen Damien glare...del neri improved him.

He played like a retard yesterday, he looked shaky, rash and for most of the part looked like he had no idea where he was or the player he was supposed to be marking was, having said that it didn't help that he had the worst footballer in history playing to his right. Did make some nice foray's forward, but I'd rather see my defenders doing their actual jobs well.

As if we weren't conceding goals left and right when he partnered Chiellini.

He's weak, I don't know how much he can improve because I'm still undecided on his talent but right now Bonucci is weak.

He's nothing special to me. Nothing more than a "pretty good" CB on his best day, thus far, and really, any one CB in Serie A can say they've had a pretty good game now and then. Boggles my mind when certain people claim to see some inherent "WC potential" in him based on what he's doing this season. The guy's never even come close to Barzagli's best performance in our shirt (versus Inter).
