Saying Tevez has no resale value is biased. Players these day have better physic and can easily play top football until 33. Look at Pirlo, Barzagli and Del Piero as examples. In worst scenario, the lost is 12mil max. The most important in this transaction to me is the contract must heavily based on his performance/ titles/ contributions to the team.

With Conte as a coach with strong personality, I have no doubt Tevez will behave well and contribute tremendously to the team.

was that the point being made? no.
What was your point then? Taking a risk on a player? RVP was worth taking the risk on because he is WC (in spite of that injury record) and was coming off a stellar season. JoJo isn't at that level yet, and we aren't like United in the sense that we can't afford to spend that much money on a single player without repercussions. Go figure.

I will always go with the younger one. He can grow into a star, and I am a little bit scared that tevez will be a problem with the team, be homesick.

But I am obviously talkeing out of my ass here since I dont know him personally.

Now if we get Tevez AND Higuain, then we should obviously do that

guess I'll have to spell it out...:

the point was taking a large monetary on a notoriously injury-prone player.

Jovetic is nowhere near as brittle as RVP, yet United took the chance and it paid off for them.

But RVP was worth the risk because he is WC. Jovetic isn't there yet, so we are taking a risk based on potential. 20-22 million for JoJo is a fair deal (closer to his real valuation, considering his form over the past season) but 30 million is excessive.

22M or 30M, both go to shit considerably if the player breaks down, so how is it worth it in one case and not the other.
