Thanks :)

On another note, I think we did well to keep Pogba and Vidal, had we lost either of them we'd be in shit..
I think keeping your best players should not be even considered, we're not Milan fooling the fans by saying that keeping Silva and Zlatan is our biggest achievment. It's Marotta's basic job to keep the club as good and his bonus shoud lie in improving it.

6.5 or 7/10 for me
+Rid ourselves of some dead weight
+Youth with potential: Coman, Morata, Pereyra
+LB in Evra (4 atb transition possible)
+Versatility: Pereyra, Romulo, Coman, Evra
+Kept Vidal and Pogba and other vital players on part of a team that earned triple digit points in Serie A
-Still have to rely on Bonucci/Ogbonna/Caceres/Marrone at CB some
-No signing of starting #10 or #7 (Though have potential players that can adapt to these roles)
-Bye bye Conte, hello Mad Max

Agree with most except for the Conte part and we have a starting #10 in Tevez.

7 out of 10 for me. After several windows of recycling bench players seems like marotta's finally got it right adding some decent depth who can challenge the starters and actually contribute. Was wishing for a star AM/Treq didn't happen. Dodged some stinkin bullets too, which is a plus for me, not wasting money on those useless marquee marotta signings.

There's still time, don't jinx this man!

I think we can all agree this wasn't a bad window. Anti-climatic, perhaps. But definitely not bad

Having said that, a similar Summer next year and that would absolutely be bad. What with more revenue coming in, new deals etc + our team will need rejuvenating probably.

Actually, I think the mercato was really good. We took some players in the positions we really needed. We got an experienced left back, two attacking midfielders with low wages, but both are promising, a much better version of Isla in the face of Romulo and a good perspective CF, again with low wages. Thanks to this mercato the club will be able to offer better contract to Pogba and keep him for 5 years or SHFSCO (sell him for some crazy offer :D ) .

Only one thing can bother us and that is the transfer of Iturbe in Roma. We never stood a chance for Di Maria or Falcao. If BM don't want to sell Shaqiri then we can't do anything about it.

Conte fucking off was his decision
Tevez is a #10. Coman and pereyra are potential #10 and we cant afford a #10 in his prime, so this is the most excellent solution

Agreed at the CB. Pray to jesus/mohammed that barzagli-chiellini stay healthy and mentally sharp

So, let me ask everyone this. What will everyone think about it if this current crop gets us to say, the quarters again or the semis but last years mercato with higher ratings didn't?
Bravo, still we just upgraded the bench but we have a great team. Didn't sell BonBon/Ogbonna for a better CB and didn't get that starter up front that can create. 9/10 if happened.

    :agree:

    the good:

sold some big contracts for good money
    signed coman
signed romulo for a relatively good price

    the bad:

overpaid massively for morata & pereyra
failed to move isla, dc, and motta permanently
failed to sign any of the main targets
    the vidal saga

i dont think all this falls on marotta's shoulders, as i believe he was given very little cash to play with

We should have got to the CL 1/16 or 1/8 with our team last season, this year even if we end up playing 3-5-2 with all the usual suspects we'll probably improve on that. So unless Pereyra & co are somehow directly responsible for us improving in Europe then it doesn't effect the ratings to me

Last year it was crucial we sorted our attack out, and we got not 1 but 2 starters for roughly 10M.

Matri - Vucinic - Quags - Giovinco was nowhere near the best strikeforce in our crap league

So yeah last seasons was better HOWEVER, we had bigger gaps therefore it was easier to improve our team

E.G It's ridiculously difficult to improve Madrids team on Paper, to the point buying a world class prospect and a German international may have actually done more harm than good.

Guarin in apperently rejecting offers and stopping inter getting boneventura :)

We should offer 7m to take him
    Inter

They screwed Guarin last year and he was dumb enough to stay. Now he wants to leave but the clubs he wants don't want him and Inter are stuck

He wears #10 but isn't a true 10 though he was one of the ones I was talking about in the players that could adapt to the role(s)

As for Conte, I don't think it will be all that bad of a loss but he did take us from 7th to b2b2b Scudetto winners...Max did have some impressive performances in Europe and has a very strong side at his disposal
