While their truly legendary player and coach Xavi Hernadez left the club with care and generously renounce his next year salary of 11 million euros asking only his staff be paid off.
Compare this to some newly proclaimed tuz legends.

"The Barça has issued an official communiqué in which "it expresses publicly his gratitude to Xavi and to the rest of his staff technical by his commitment, dedication and generosity and by the eases given for desvincularse contractualmente", sentences the information. Like this, the Barça leaves clear that the egarense has accepted to renounce to his wage of some 11 million gross euros that had agreed for the following year."

Good for Xavi. But anyone that gives up money like that is a complete idiot.

Clubs arent voluntarily giving players extra money when they outperform their wages. Why should players do the club any favors?

Hell, Messi bankrupted that club with his wages, annual "loyalty bonuses," and demands in the market by holding the club hostage with his constant short term deals.

Anyone expecting Juve players or coaches to give up money they're owed is a complete mark

It's a scary thought but I also remember the Galacticos era and how they under achieved.
Spot on, I was thinking the same. The game isn't played on paper.

Kroos and Modric were the turning point for me when they stopped being Galacticos and started playing as a team, even if it wasn't flashy at times. There will be nowhere to hide for Camavinga/Tchouaméni/Valverde with this loaded attack.

did they tho? Underachieving Real is winningier than other clubs lol
Considering how much they spent it is remembered as being somewhat of a a failure due to expectations and money spent.

After signing Figo and Zidane for record fees they won La Liga and a Champions league.

Then the Galacticos era began when they then signed Ronaldo, Beckham, Robhino and Michael Owen for huge fees.

After these signings they won a grand total of 1 league title and only made it as far as the champions league semi finals once in 10 years.

They even went 3 consecutive years without winning a single thing during this era.

winning comes easier to them now, because their historical rivals like Juve, Milan, Bayern, MU, Barca etc are all in the shit and the Citys and PSGs of this world just don't have the pedigree to do anything about their dominance. Won't be surprised if they pull of one more CL Threepeat now.

Dani Olmo is close to a €60m Barcelona move.

Incredible how stupid Barcelona are. They desperately need someone in the holding midfield role (and fullback), but they are more interested in signing attackers.

La Liga is currently not allowing Barça to register any new players for the 2024-25 campaign, due to a €100million shortfall in the club’s accounts for last season, caused by the failure of their ‘Barca Studios’ lever.

Barça is a phenomenally poorly run club. They have paid the price for trying to keep up with the Joneses and continue to do so even while skint. A combination of being locked in an eternal battle with Real Madrid, having to be seen to ‘win the transfer window’ every summer and gross mismanagement have made for a ruinous cocktail.

New club motto: “More than broke”

What's going on with Atletico Madrid? Where are they getting all of this money from all of a sudden?
