This is going to be unpopular, but we should sign Suarez if Higgy goes. Even as an old, semi-finished, fat player he is still ridiculously good. And would create great space for Dybala and CR7.

I still dream of that Van Persie-Suarez partnership which was suppose to happen in 2012.

------------------------------Suarez---RVP---------------------------------
Asamoah----Marchisio----Pirlo-----Vidal------Lichtstiener
Chiellini-----------------------Bonucci-----------------------Barzagli
------------------------------------Buffon--------------------------------------

So Peter Lim turned out to be a massive fraud. Valencia is in shit financial state and are forced to sell while he is reluctant to invest a dime in the club. Valencia have sold Parejo and Coquelin to direct rival Villareal, Ferran Torres to City and Rodrigo to leeds. That's 4 starters already.

Quique Setién and his entire staff just released official statements saying they will take legal action against Bartomeu & co as they did not receive compensation after having been sacked.

They're broke

https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2020/09/21/5f6884b6268e3e20188b4574.html

"Andoni Zubizarreta was sporting director at the Camp Nou during Martino's time in charge and he has lifted the lid on just how aware the coach was of Messi's influence.

"When he [Martino] was at Barcelona, he used to tell Messi 'I know that if you call the president then he'll kick me out, but you don't have to show me every day, I know'," Zubizarreta revealed in a conversation with Vicente del Bosque in El Pais."

not that it was any secret, still, i don't remember reading it from someone credible.

[QUOTE]Lionel Messi: "I've been wrapping my head around the idea but today I walked into the locker room and it sunk in. It's going to be so hard not to share our days together, both on the pitch and off it. We will miss all of you a lot. It's been many years, many mates, meals, dinners... many things that will never be forgotten, spending every single day together.
It's going to be weird, seeing you wearing another shirt and facing you. You deserved a proper send off as you are one of the biggest footballers in the history of the club, achieving important things, both as a group and individually. And not to be kicked out, the way you were kicked out. But, truth be told, nothing surprises me anymore at this point.
I wish you the best in this new challenge. I love you so much, I love all of you so much. See you soon, buddy."

Barça are in for a rude awakening. Their cycle which started 12 years ago has come to an end, this season will be its requiem when Messi walks after its end. Instead of building on all the sporting success they have enjoyed over the years, their management have done their utmost to leave the club a shambles for the next incoming administration.

imagine messi leaves for free next summer and they have this squad:

ter stegen, de jong and ansu fati will be their only top players under 30. otherwise, either some oldies, or some 2nd grade unfulfilled promises.

What an utter mess they are in. Years ago I envied them when they had players in their absolute prime I would have killed for like Eto’o, Toure, Mascherano, Suarez etc... Not to mention perhaps the best midfield pairing of all time in Xavi and Iniesta.

Now though? this snake in the grass Bartomeu has really fucked them up . They have failed to adequately replace key players like Puyol and Mascherano. Every single one of their >€100 million euro signings have been nothing short of disastrous. They haven’t moved on players long in the tooth like Busquets and Pique, who at this point are only getting selected based off on their names. Their dressing room is ruled by a clique of players who the coach dare not cross. Lastly, it looks like their captain is about to fuck them over and walk for free next year.

Ouch?? The dude has the money to pay whatever penalty fee they throw at him and literally tell them to fuck off and walk out or even fight in the court but instead he's gonna whine at interviews and twitter posts. The same way he whined about "Copa America" being too "violent" or the multiples times he quit the national team when things don't go his way.

I get the club fucked him over good in every possible way but complaining on the internet isn't doing shit. He is the biggest and richest football player in the world and has been for quite a while, grow some balls and do something about it. Of course he won't, they deserve each other.
