We would've won the scudetto even with winemaker's shitty tactics had we signed Suarez instead of Morata :snoop:

This is a hit to Messis legacy as well, Suarez leaves them to their inferior rival and beats them to the title. I hope they strengthen themselves and go for a repeat, would be amazing

We'd be in Serie B if we signed Suarez.
There's no way the FIGC would let us get away with the fake passport scandal if we had signed him.

He is obviously a legendary player and levels above Morata ever will be but considering how this season went for us we'd have probably still lost the scudetto and been stuck with another old player on crazy wages. Given that we have to build a new core I am glad we went for a younger player like Morata.

Happy for Suarez. Another great story of a player showing the middle finger to his former bosses who considered him finished.

Suarez was absolutely critical for them in their triumph. Not only did he score 21 league goals but many of them match-changing and game winning ones. He would have been a resounding success here without doubt.

I don't get Barca's transfer strategy. They let Suarez go because he was too old but they're signing Aguero who will be as old as Suarez was when he left and far more injury prone. Also, even as good as he is when in form, his top level also isn't as high as Suarez's top level.

To think that Atletico competed with Real and Barca for over a decade now despite the differences in resources, quality of the squad etc., and won several domestic titles (and coming very close to winning the CL a couple of times) just illustrates how good of a manager Simeone is. Hats off to them.

Also shows the benefit of giving a coach time. At times they looked stale and other clubs would have changed coach, but if you give a good manager time they will build something.

They've only won La Liga twice since he has been there but of course it is relative to the level of competition they have there. They've been top 3 for 9 seasons.
