Peluso over Asamoah is a joke!

Defensively, Asamoah has shown that he's as solid as a rock all season. Bossed that left flank week in, week out. Now, to suggest that Peluso is on the same level defensively is maybe okay, but in attack?! please.
What has Asamoah done in attack apart from those four assists in September / October?

We're using a 3-5-2, thus we need wide players who can cross and contribute offensively, which Asamoah has failed to do this season bar in his first 3-4 games.

Stats mean nothing, specially recorded assists. Asamoah contributed in numerous goals and attacks all season that weren't recorded as assists.

I know he wasn't good today, but even so, he should've had an assist in the first half if it weren't for Pogba's finish.

Peluso would never even get close to the class of Asamoah upfront.

We should use him as a backup CM or not at all, he is cack at LWB.

It's the epitome of the modern defender's time to bench Asamoah.
You have forgotten a thing or two that happened before and during the acon i'm afraid.

Asamoah, was an instand impact on the lwb, despite never playing there.
Defensively, especiall in the big games, he just won the flank each time, and if a counter came trough, chiellini cleaned it up. rocksolid leftwing.
when we faced shaktar, chelsea, etc the leftwing was allways an impenetrable fortress.

His offensive game got figured out, this is why serie a is so good, but what got figured out exactly?
He does 2 stepovers and burst down the left. Fine, he did that today and still was succesfull. If he has space of it, he'll do it, cause he'll win the duel. And if he doesnt, he'll get a corner anyway.

What does it matter that you got ribery or robben on your flank, if the opponent is asamoah and shuts you down ?

Also, he just got back, he'll get back into his game soon. Chiellini has had 2 months off, he'll take longer to be back. chiellini+asamoah for a while is definatly gonna be the best solution.

asamoah should allways start. when we are in need of a goal, and the coach feels we can sacrifice his incredible defensive capabilities and pressure down the flank, and replace it with someone who has a polished endproduct, beeing crosses, then we can think of a substitute.

Also, "getting past his man easely" wingbacks ? doesnt exist
"gets past his man" yeah, they exist, they are defensively poor

asamoah will remain our starter lwb. having a sub that is defensively offcourse ALOT worse, but has some endproduct beeing crosses or trough balls, that is allways handy, but not very high on our list. technically, peluso, isla, padoin, could do this.

He was awful against Roma and somewhat better today, but still not the same as the player we had in December.

Obviously he's not a real offensive weapon, but I'm not convinced Peluso is better. The same questions that are asked about Asamoah in terms of what he lacks you could apply to Peluso.

I have seen him lose the ball much more times than actually contributing to anything. But maybe it's only me. That ball to Pogba was the best thing I've seen him do since those few good games at the beginning of the season.

I thought he was worse today, against Roma he mainly looked more tired.

I'm in agreement with the bold part.

Juventus isnt a fancy spanish team

licht and asamoah kill the opposing flank, marchisio and vidal are supposed to do the same in the middle, its why we are resilient and hard to beat.
When in possession, our midfield and frontline can work stuff out, and use the wide options as passing stations, licht having the added value of his dangerous runs behind the opposing defence.

if you remember 1995/1996 juve, they did exactly that. Not much flair, but killed opponent and won trough the skill of a few players

I'll go against the grain, I love him on the left and I feel so confident seeing him in the lineup.

I agree.

Agreed, and I think that Conte is doing exactly that - modelling this Juve like the one that dominated europe for 4 years. Even then we didnt have much flair, perhaps only Del Piero and Zidane, but remember the rest of our team, Birindelli and Pessotto, Montero, Deschams, Davids, Tacchinardi, Conte himself, etc... thats what we have always done when we were successful and thats the point of all these players that are sometimes unpopular in the forum, like Padoin, Peluso when he arrived, Giaccherini, etc... although they are not starters and not are very limited at times, they are the Juve style, work, work, work, give your heart on the field when you come in although you are usually a backup. Thats what we have always had and what we need and COnte knows it.

Just remember when we knocked Barca out, Birindelli cross for Zalayeta, both subbed in in the seond half, both nowhere near starters, both gave their heart on the field when they played.

Conte is modelling us like the mid-90s Juve.

Birindelli is ten times the winger that Asamoah will ever be. One is a winger the other is forced into a position he only can defend in.

And that match against barca was in 2003 not in the mid 90s.

Yet he's had what, 4-5 assists and 2 goals although he only played until mid-december?
I already said it at least 10 times today, these numbers are from our first four or five matches. After that he did nothing offensively. He gives the ball away much more than he contributes. Off the ball I give him credit, he is great but he simply sucks donkey balls when we are in possession.

Well in November he had an assist against Inter.

And an assist in the Champions League against Chelsea. When he was raping Ivanovic over and over.

And he scored against Pescara.

But anyways, continue.

there are several concerns with such a plan, the most obvious thing is we don't have zidane del piero anymore, we don't even have inzaghi quality striker lol.

shutting down opponents can be good, but if we can't attack them then it's equally useless.
