What is the point of having players like that on the bench of CL final? When you know he is not going to come on, cause he isnt good enough or will be liability. Could have add even someone like Kean on instead. Everyone is having a go at Khedira. Fair enough, he was bad. But we somewhat paid the price cause we signed him for free and he is known for injury issues. We can go and invest, buy a Verratti or smth and move Khedira to America. In the end he participated and was part of the team which made the final and was one game from treble.
What is the point of players like Asamoah though. This myth of we have great squad depth was not there, we have Asamoah and Lemina on bench, Real has Bale and Morata. (Kovacic and Asensio are also fitter players) See the difference. Im tired of extending contracts of these type of players like Asamoah cause he is some nice guy and lets award some loyalty.
What happens, we end up wasting these spots in a 7 man bench (which is really 6 man given one is backup keeper for obvious reasons) for potential GAME CHANGERS in a CL final.

Yep, it was painfully clear when we bought on Lemina and they bought on Fucking Bale.
We won't get to that level but we need options on the bench. Our bench consists of bits and pieces of former juventus teams. Players that don't really fit in with what Max is doing. Pjaca would've been nice but you have to assume that long term injuries will probably happen during a season. Rincon, Lemina, asamoah, Licht (great warrior but his time is up), Sturaro it's 4 mediocre center mids that would be starters for Genoa but that's about it.
If we want to have a chance we need impact off the bench, we need more options, we can't play the same player every game for 5 months.

If we can get someone better asa can go. but he is not the main priority to be honest. Our midfield and attack is.
If we find the right players for our midfield and attacking positions...we will not even need to find a asamoah replacement this summer. Thats because as rotation he is reliable, and all he will need is to pass to midfielders and attakers to do their thing, and he can play it safe
