He has great control on those long balls, but once he faces up to a player, he tends to be scared to go past him, in fear of leaving a gap in defense (i believe)
i feel sorry for him to, he is a fantastic cm that could start in many teams across europe, but he plays out of position every week and never complains.
the problem with asamoah is that he is really that great CM i mean i know this guy since his time in Udinese and playing for ghana youth team.. he is so classy as a CM with monster technique i mean he has all it takes to make him up there as one of the best. but he isnt CM now so you have the nice asamoah who plays LWB
How's that so, when the position he's playing in requires him to make a decent cross and beat his opponent every once in a while?
There's no questioning about his defensive side of the game, but a wing-back has to produce something offensively, and as was expected, he doesn't (barring a random game every now and then).
Alaba and Lahm are very effective in the attacking aspect of the game. If we wish to deploy 3-5-2 to great effect in Europe, and actually ruffle some proverbial feathers, then we need wingbacks with an attacking output, not just defensive solidity.
I would love to see him in the middle in Pirlo's absence. The man was one of the best central midfielders in the league while with Udinese. Enough with this wingback BS. He has the potential of becoming one of the best.
Don't get me started on his countryman Asamoah Gyan. The man was shaving his moustache when Noah was still pooping in his diapers. Yet, they are trying to tell me he's in his 20's.
How did he get aboard Noah's ark you ask? I could answer that, but say NO to racism.
