Valencia Trying To Snatch Huntelaar

While Juventus Turin have allegedly set Klaas-Jan Huntelaar as their secondary target, next to Brazilian Amauri, Ronald Koeman is stepping up to close the deal to Valencia’s favour.

Koeman, who left Ajax just months before Huntelaar joined them in January 2006, has been reportedly trying to lure several of his compatriots to Valencia. But now it seems that the two clubs have already started negotiating a possible January transfer.

According to Levante-EMV regional newspaper, the Amsterdam giants demand no less than 25 million euros for the 24-year-old international striker, who’s been in scintillating form this season as well, striking 18 goals in 23 outings!

Several Italian media have reported that Ajax would be prepared to sell their main-man to La Vecchia Signora for an amount in the region of 15 to 18 million. And it’s therefore no wonder that the Spanish club find their asking price too high.

Valencia had made a first attempt to sign Huntelaar back in June, as Francisco Ortí had reported exclusively on Goal.com. In case Ajax are not prepared to let go of him midway through the season, the Spanish giants would reportedly wait for the summer.

do you guys get this ? do we have some special understanding with ajax or something ? maybe they're still grateful for us beating them on penals in cl final '96 ?

and it's not like we overpayed for ibrahimovic (16M is much in dutch competition but look at ibra now) and we snatched grygera away for nothing

I think we have good mutual relationship with Ajax. maybe we do have an agreement with Ajax over Huntelaar. though if we do it's probably a verbal agreement, since that report said that Ajax did not reject Valencia's approach, but rather asked for a higher price, which means that if a club meets their asking price we can assume they could break the supposed agreement.

Or maybe it's all a hoax and Valencia are not after Huntelaar. It's a bit too early to tell for sure. I'll wait for more reports on this.

Maybe we have first option, but if someone offer more than us than we have to match the offer. Only that sound like realistic agreement to me...

Okay thats right, but are there rumours about Villa and Real?Couldn't find anything.

Tottaly right
There were some rumours that the President of Real Madrid was seeking to have an agreement with his counterpart from Valencia. These rumours were mostly before the game between Valencia vs Real Madrid. + David Villa has said that he likes to compete for championships, since Valencia is rebuilding their squad he will more than likely look for an exit.

Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntlaar has been told by Edgar Davids that Juventus is a club that any professional should love to play for...

Klaas Jan Huntelaar has been linked with switches to Italy of late, and the Ajax striker has revealed that Edgar Davids' glowing recommendation of Juventus has left him intrigued.

The Dutch international told the Corriere dello Sport, "Even in Holland, [Juve] are known as the 'Old Lady', and thanks to all the trophies that they've own, they are a very attractive club. Edgar Davids has told me about this.

"What did he say? Very positive things about both Juventus and Italian football in general. It's a fun and exciting style there."

Davids cut his footballing teeth in the famous Ajax side of the mid-1990s before moving first to AC Milan and then Juve, and while Huntelaar seems interested in the prospect of following in the midfielder's footsteps, he's not yet had the chance.

When asked about potential interest from not just Juve and Fiorentina but also Inter and AC Milan, the 24-year-old replied, "I like Italy, and it's flattering to be rated by such clubs, but I've not yet had any contact.

"I've heard nothing from Juve, but they're a club with great tradition that anyone would love to play for.

"Am I the new [Camel] Ibrahimovic? No. Ibra is Ibra, and I am myself. Every player is different and comparisons aren't easy."
