Italian Media: Huntelaar To Join Juventus In The Summer

Besides Edgar Davids, who was a huge success in Turin from 1997 to 2004, Juventus have in general not linked up with Dutch footballers throughout their illustrious history. But it seems that things are about to change.

As La Gazzetta Dello Sport reports today, Rafael Van Der Vaart is not the only Dutch star packing his bags for a summer move to the capital of Piedmont, since Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is expected to keep him company.

Club president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli had openly admitted that La Vecchia Signora were negotiating with Ajax for the 24-year-old prolific striker, talking to Il Corriere Dello Sport back on December 7.

Done deal (mark :D )

And La Gazzetta Dello Sport reveals today that the Italian giants struck a deal with the player’s agent, Arnold Oosterveen, as early as last August to sign him at the end of this season.

The sports daily with a readership that exceeds the three-million mark insists that the Amsterdam-based club are prepared to let their star striker go for an amount between 15 and 18 million euros.

A former PSV Eindhoven, De Graafschap and Heerenveen man, Huntelaar joined Ajax in January 2006 for a fee of nine million plus future player incentives.

Needless to say he’s been an instant hit, scoring a breathtaking 74 goals in just 92 appearances!

The question is should we trust a guy with a name like Panos Bletsos? :D

Wait for news on Juve's official site, it's nowhere near to being confirmed yet.

no offence, seriously, but do you work in the media/football world?

because where do you know this all from? :xmas:
I'd love to invent transfer stories every day and make money doing so but no, I don't work in the media and I just gave my opinion on Huntelaar not being official yet.

i can imagine now thanks to ur avatar:eyebrows:

I don't know how Trez-Hunter partnership would go, great behind maybe Giovinco or Diego but in a static 4-4-2 with no creative midfielder behind them i think it would be bound for disaster

Sorry if i might sound arrogant. But have you even seen Gilberto Silva play lately? He is a headless chicken running on the pitch. I would never put Gilberto in our starting eleven if it meant that he would replace Zanetti or Nocerino.

“Juventus Prefer Amauri To Huntelaar” – Agent

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s agent in Italy confirmed Friday’s report of La Gazzetta dello Sport, linking his client with Juventus, but also added another twist to the affair.

The Italian sports daily suggests today that the Turin giants, back in the Serie A this season, are indeed interested in signing the Ajax star in the summer, but only should they not manage to lure Brazilian Amauri instead.

“Claudio Ranieri’s dream attacking duo from July onwards would consist of David Trezeguet and Amauri,” the Dutchman’s agent in Italy, Vincenzo Morabito, was quoted as saying during the Radio Radio TV show. “Juventus think Klaas-Jan is good enough for them, but if they were to cash out the same amount of money for either of them they’d go for Amauri, as he’s already familiar with Italian football.”

While La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Huntelaar would cost around 15 million euros, the Città di Palermo forward, plying his trade in Italy since January 2001, is estimated to be worth five or even 10 million more. A sum of money La Vecchia Signora would happily invest on a midfielder, as they have already suggested.

Re transfers incl. HUNTELAAR...

Fenin, 20 year old, has signed for Frankfurt at 4m., he had agreed terms with Juve that would have sent him on loan to Empoli. The player refused.

Huntelaar 23 or Amauri 27 both rated at 25m, the same as Van Der Vaart. Huntelaar is younger but Amauri knows Serie A. At equal cost Juve will go with Huntelaar.

Defence Barzagli and Zapata and in midfield Sissoko and Cigarini.

Boumsong off to Besiktas.
