If we think Keita types to start will win us the CL for instant push back to back finals then forget about it.
As a squad depth signing to rotate between starters for serie a is ok signing. Lets not forget Allegri hardly was able to rest/rotate the likes of Higuain and Mandzukic. Id even say Higuain should not have started last league games for various reasons but we had absolutely no cover/depth. What if he had gotten injured last serie a game which was meaningless match.
That also makes a difference in the CL final where Zidane was rotating plenty. Aparently Ronaldo played less mins in the domestic competitions than before. Zidane was keeping him fresh for CL. Same with couple of other players. We played most of our starters weekly 80-90 mins cause lack of depth after turning into the 4-2-3-1 system.
Hindsight is that Marotta should have brought another striker in january. But Pjaca got injured in March. Which wasnt expected.
