you guys have your own opinions and i will respect them but its obvious that you don't understand what i'm getting at.

there is no point in having any kind of thread/poll like this cuz we all know who will be the chosen/appointed winner
What about that poll we had at the beg of the season who should start for Juve? Iaquinta-Trezeguet were leading that poll.

It's really simple, anyone who doesn't think Ale had a good season or deserve to be player of the season don't vote. Anyone who thinks Ale has been our best player should vote. If anyone thinks Ale has enough fans to vote for him then don't vote for him. Simple.

We can't always have these debates in polls.

Rab, thats my point, whats the point of having a poll if the winner is already pre-determined?

it sounds like there is no point of having a poll or a thread for discussion since ADP is the god-given winner. And by your statements above, it sounds like you are saying that if you are not gonna vote for DP then don't bother voting at all. isn't that a bit skizzy?

Its really hard to choose between Alex and Camo...
Ale struggled at the beginning of the season...then he exploded in the last few months...
Camo was out the most of the first part of the season by injuries...but whenever he played he was influential and brought creativity to our team...

Im not decided now...

I didn't mean that at all man.

What I meant is that no one here is obliged to vote for Del Piero If they don't see him as our player of the season.

And I feel that you're somehow exaggerating about this just because there are too many admirers of Del Piero and you're not a fan of him as I can tell. Thats what I feel TBH, and I'm sorry If I'm wrong.

I'm a Del Piero hardcore fan, he's my idol and everyone knows that.....If you check my post earlier, I said I'm undecided between Ale and Zanetti, does that turn him into a god given winner? or does it turn me into a worshiper? I probably worship his football style but thats just normal.

Just like Raul is worshiped by Real Madrid fans, and Totti by the Romans, Maldini by Milan, Del Piero is the same to Juventini. But again that doesn't mean we're being biased.

Instead of having a good time in this thread, discussing the beautiful things these players did this season, we're discussing some lame thing TBH.

best player on the team this season: Del piero
Most valuable: Camoranesi

I wholeheartedly sign on for this.

Del Piero isnt winning this because of biasm as some earlier said, even if some would vote for him regardless. And it was by no means an easy choice. Its a semi-toss up between him and Camo (frankly suprised the poll is so uneven even if I voted ale). Camo is easily the most important and integral to the function of our team.

If he was injured less (when he was, it said enough of how important he is), he would have been way clear winner for this IMO (assuming he would be as stellar, which its a given IMO, but as said, was out too much). But since its for this season, Del Piero has stepped up throughout it enough to be chosen for this. Bailed us out enough times.

I too agree with that, Del Piero has been amazing, and Camoranesi has been precious to the teams overall performance. Both of them were vital to us attaining many points and positive results this season.

For me, this poll was a toss up between Buffon, Del Piero, and Trez. Del Piero saved our asses repeatedly this whole season and I hope he continues to for these last couple of games. We definitely need him and he is an integral part of Juve's success. Buffon saved us from so much as well. Just imagine our score lines without him. There is no way to say he doesn't deserve to be the best player of the season as well.

I voted Trez because I just think he doesn't get enough love from people on this forum. He is the top scorer in Serie A for a reason. He deserves the recognition.

Too many players really came through this season and showed their influence. I have a hard time just picking one.

Calcio Debate: Who Is Juve's Player Of The Season?

To round off the current Serie A season, Carlo Garganese looks at the stand-out performers from the biggest clubs. The third in the series are Juventus…
Below is a list of five nominees in no particular order. I then cast my vote at the bottom, before leaving it you, the fans, to have your say.

1) Gianluigi Buffon: There is a common myth that the best goalkeepers are those who pull off the best saves. Wrong. The best are those whose positioning, communication, defensive organisation, and understanding of the play often means they are not forced into too many saves, and those that they do make look easy. This is what separates Buffon from Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas. The Juve number one has had another inspired season, and he was particularly impressive in the first half of the campaign. Who will forget that seemingly gravity-defying stop from Lazio’s Tommaso Rocchi before Christmas?

2) Giorgio Chiellini: It seems almost unthinkable that Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco actually attempted to sell Chiellini to Manchester City at the beginning of the season. The 23-year-old has been a colossus at the heart of the Bianconeri defence, forging an impressive partnership with Nicola Legrottaglie, who some would argue, also deserves to be nominated. Chiellini has summed up the never-say-die attitude that represents the Old Lady, always prepared to shed blood for the cause. He won the hearts-and-minds of all Juventini after he dished out some really rough treatment to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and indeed owned the Swede in both league games against Inter.

3) Mauro Camoranesi: The Argentine-born winger may have only played 20 Serie A matches this season due to injury, but he has been simply world class in almost every one of these. While many rightfully point to the impact that Momo Sissoko has made in Juve’s wonderful form in the last few months, it is Camoranesi’s return to full fitness that has been the biggest factor. In his last five games alone, the 31-year-old has provided nine assists, including all three in the 3-2 win over Milan. Camoranesi offers that much-needed creativity in midfield, and had he been fit all season, who knows Juve may have won the Scudetto. He has also scored five goals, at a ratio of one in four, and many of these have been decisive, including strikes against Inter home and away, as well as the equaliser in the comeback win at Udinese.

4) Alessandro Del Piero: 'The Golden Boy’ is in his best physical shape for years, and as a result he has produced possibly his best season since 1997/98. The 33-year-old struggled a little at the beginning of the campaign, but since November time he has been consistently rolling back the years. He is the second top-scorer in Serie A, with 18 goals, and over the past couple of months he has performed better than any forward in the peninsula. Italy national team boss Roberto Donadoni today revealed that he will probably take Del Piero to Euro 2008, and it will be well deserved.

5) David Trezeguet: While Del Piero will be in Austria and Switzerland, Serie A's joint top-scorer Trezeguet will be enjoying his family holiday. Quite how Raymond Domenech can be so childish as to ignore the prolific marksman is unbelievable. The 30-year-old’s telepathic partnership with ADP has netted him 19 goals in 33 games, with just one of these being a penalty. It is clear that Henry and Trezeguet cannot play in the same team together, but if I was forced to choose one out of the two, I would most certainly go for the latter. France’s loss will be Italy, as well as Juve’s gain.

My Vote: This is a really tricky one, and in truth you could make a good case for any of these five players winning Player of the Season. Had Camoranesi played just a few games more, I would have opted for him, while the fact that Juve have recently ruined their once superb defensive record allows me to cross off Buffon and Chiellini. In a straight fight between Del Piero and Trezeguet, I am going to go for the Golden Boy. He has proved everyone wrong this season, and I just hope that given the accusations that he never performs for Italy, he will do the same at Euro 2008.

Our Champions were colossal for us this season. They were the difference for us. But for me it is a player that we didn't expect at the beginning of the season and thats cristiano zanetti.

I would have voted for Camo if he had played more games, their simply hasnt been a more influential player in Juve this season. But i dont see the logic in giving the best player title to someone who has missed half the season.

Zanetti has a good shout too but he hasnt played for some time, add to that, his for since the break, hasnt been like his form before the break, he was arguably Juve's best player up until November - mid December iirc.

DP has been an inspiration, and has proved the saying that class is permanent and form is temporary, the only reason i wouldnt give it to him is because he had a poor start to the season. but for me he's a close second.

Player of the season has to be Buffon for me, the guy is just madly consistent. a goalkeeper thats almost impossible to beat, he's been worth at least 18-20 points this season. I honestly think that if we had Buffon in our team we would've won the fucking title. Some of his saves have just been out of the world. Player of the season ahead of DP imo.

Except for the last 4 months when he has struggled with injury.

It is sort of take it for granted that Buffon will be great, so he doesn't get a huge amount of recognition.

Same goes for Trez. Folk expect him to score goals, so they don't see it as a big deal when he scores 20 goals in a season
