Our midfield is a big issue, it’s full of nothing players.

Arthur: nothing defensively, nothing going forward. Good at ball retention and 10 yard passes

Bentancur: as above

McKennie: high energy, low quality. Doing well today.

Rabiot: Best of the lot. At least a threat going forward and puts himself about

Ramsey: No creativity and no defensive abilities. Good as a goalscoring mid but needs fitness - which he is incapable of finding

We’re basically playing with a midfield with 0 creativity and 0 defensive output

We are uncapable of beating Spezia without Cr7...
Our defense is absent, each and every random forward can penetrate her...
Our midfield is very weak, we can't defend and can't create, we are very predictable, the only thing that works is personal efforts, we solely rely on our players superior skills, as a team we perform worse than the sum of our parts.
The forward line is isolated as usual, i can't believe how we fail to understand so many years that we need a CAM to link them to our midfield. Our forwards rely solely on their personal efforts, always alone, they have to out muscle, outrun and dribble past their entire d-line. This will wear them out soon...

It's not bad it's just that we were unlucky. We should have scored at least 2 more goals considering the chances. Even 3.

We're dominating Spezia, who are absolute dogshit, but what's worrying is that we have ZERO organization and we're so fragile in mid and defense it's just horrible. Had it been some other team they would have raped our ass.
This is my concern as well

Why on earth Pirlo asks his players always running and pressing without the positional plan. And somehow Spezia players can do a long ball directly to their forward without any protection and suddenly do 1 on 1. Evertime Spezia attack it's basically 1 on 1 position with our defender. Give me any better opponent and we will easily concede lots of goals and find the game chasing again. It's no wonder we got 3 red cards in 7 games with this kind running and pressing without organization.

And if we want to gain any advantage getting the ball in their half and launch counter attack, our attacking play or decision has been worse. Its always ended in their players or our players overdribbled it. We always looking forward and cant think other ways (diagonal, back)

Kulu or Ronaldo for McKennie and our attack will look better.

We need to be calmer with the ball and try to build possession a bit more instead of always looking for the killer pass.
Our side to side passing shouldn't happen in defense either, it's the same problem we've had for years. Our focal point of possession is far too deep

We have all sorts of problems this season and it’s only building up, passing, finishing, confidence, physicality and above all positioning. Pirlo has a lot to fix and adjust before it’s too late to compete for anything.

Can we please not have McKennie as our most forward midfielder ever again? Other than that pass to Morata he has literally fucked up every attack, he is just too limited and his decision making is terrible. Drop him to Bentancur's spot, who doesn't contribute anything and put Ramsey or Kulu at Mckennie's.
With Ramsey we’d likely be 2 or 3 goals up by now.

:agree:

One of the many issues with Bonucci playing. We seem obsessed with play making 75 yards out.

Look at Liverpool for example, the defenders give the ball to better players in better areas of the pitch to make things happen.

We simple cannot afford to not win this game, it's 3 points on a plate with a bit of calmness in front of goal.
An understatement to say the least! 3-1 win it has to be. Seemed like nice pace going forward but decision making not there at the end.

Don't see it yet with Arthur, only time Bent appeared on screen was in couple times ready to get a yellow, #10 just ain't there yet.

McKennie was all over the pace with his hustling. And Morata has played even BETTER than I anticipated.
