It doesn't matter if Bonucci has several good games, because you just know he will have a terrible match here and there, that ends up being disastrous. So his net productivity is generally mediocre. Compare that to say, someone like VVD who has pretty decent matches but makes errors from time to time, yet he's hailed as the best defender ever. So in fanboy land, Bonucci is basically a mix of Scirea/Guardiola, while VVD is like Nesta/Beckenbauer/Maldini/Ramos.
