I don't mind a little of this sit-back approach for a bit as we settle into the match, as long as we're playing good lines and defending well. The match is all about shifts in momentum, and I wouldn't mind letting Roma get overexcited in the early stages... only to hold them and then switch advantage later on.

That's the kind of match discipline I'd like to see for a change against a quality team vs. scoring too soon or conceding early.

What swag said - let them think that, let them extend their lines and think attack (particularly Maicon and Gervinho on the wings) and then peg them back and take control. As long as we're playing tight defensively I like the tactical variety that this shows, demonstrating that we're more than a one-trick pony.

There's also the consideration that Asamoah and Licht have to respect the width and pace of Roma, so need to be very deliberate in their forays forward.
