Newcastle is ready for big things this year, they might having right now the better roster. For the first time in this decade, i think they really are a better team than we are, its sad but true...
I ve seen other games after this clash and our image really reflects that,
Newcastle ought to win !
yeah .. no doubt about it , newcastle are in much better form than we are right now and the better team , but when it comes to the squad quality i think juve is better .

When i said newcastle are a better team this means that as a team they play better football , they have something we don't , teamwork . This is what we lack right now , we have to learn to play as a team , offensively and defensively

Even with the team we have right now , our defense can perform much better , although i would like another cb , our defense doesn't really lack quality as much as it lacks team play . From what ive seen in our previous games , our man-marking is terrible , the offside trap is also a big flaw in our defense , our ability to clear the high balls from set pieces is very questionable at the moment .

All these flaws are really simple misunderstandings from our defensive back-four . I think its going to take some time before our defense will stop these errors and patience is needed . I don't like the idea of just buying a new player every time a problem arises . Buying too many players ceates an imbalance in the team .

I think our defense is our weakest point , yet it is also the section that has gone through the most changes (zambrotta , cannavaro , thuram ) , 3 defenders left , 3 "new" defenders come in , there is an imbalance in the team . Our defense in serie B was terrible due to this .

I think we should wait and see how our defense performs in the coming games before we make to many changes in the team .

If you're one of the 23 best Italians around and Italy are world champions, you're not a bad player.
I have to disagree.

When a ship starts sailing in the ocean, only those sailors that direct that ship will be the decisive guys to make it arrive. If a stupid sailor is there, and he is NOT used during the trip except when the ship is not sailing, then he is definitely not a brilliant sailor.

That's not the point. It's about selecting the 23 best sailors of a nation of 60 000 000.

Mice or even rats have always had their way on getting on a sailing boat,
Iaquinta was barely a sailor, he was just lucky to be Italian and available, just that,
he is not even world cup material and in any case, a world cup winner...
If all the Italian players shared his quality, Italy wouldnt have make it through the first qualifying groups.

what the hell does sailing have to do with football?
??

You have a point there, but I have to say he didn't make a great impact on the victory. I don't say he was useless, but he was not as important as Buffon, for example although both of them were World Cup Champions.

:D The rats on the boat are a great addition I didn't think of.

Iaquinta is a world cup winner, but his share in that success equals to maybe 5% or even less....
100% True.

Well, he was brought to Juventus as a squad player too, and is not expected to be as important as Buffon. :)

And don't forget players such as Del Piero and Trezeguet played quite insignificant roles for their teams as well but are still good enough for our starting eleven.

2003/04: Udinese A 29 11
2004/05: Udinese A 31 13
2005/06: Udinese A 24 9
2006/07: Udinese A 30 14

I'm not saying they're great statistics, but they're very decent for a hardworking striker. Besides, Iaquinta's not our main man anyway.

Exactly, and he has said that he is ready to earn his place from the bench because he knows it will be hard to get ahead of Trez and DP. Words of a true Juventino IMO. I like him

Iaquinta obviously has to be a little good to have made a name for myself , but the question i s, is he good enough for juve ? or even potentially helpful to juve ?
Personally i think we would have done better with 11 million , or paid a little more and gotten someone worthwhile .

Lets face it Iaquinta is nothing special and not someone you would call a great player , but one thing i have always respected about him is that he's a hardworker , and thats the main reason he was picked for italy's world cup squad , his hardwork . He tries his best at all times and i like players like that .

However , i seriously doubt his abilities and feel he's a little too nervous at times . It's still too early to judge him , I think we'l get a better idea of him half way through the season to really be able to answer if he's juve material or not

he certainly isn't as bad as he is being made out overhere, ok he is not the most elegant player and he missed good chances but I remember how people over here thought about Zizou when he played for Juve and we all know how good he really was. We are expected to be critical but we should at least give him some time to settle. Judge him after a whole season not after a couple friendlies.
Same goes for Tiago, Ranieri, Andrade... If we fail to reach CL next year then you can diss them as much as you want but not after an off-season game .

I keep saying so because I believe it's true...Iaquinta is not World Class but he'll do a job for us & I'm betting that just as Zala did, he'll bag a couple of really decisive goals!
