A report in the newspaper ‘Público’ claims that the Portuguese player is poised for a move to Juventus. AC Milan and Real Madrid are also stated as showing an interest in the 29 year old Stuttgart captain.

"The interest of these big clubs is there. That is all i can say. It would be an honour to play in Italy next season, the same would apply to Spain.

"If the club had the wish to sell me, then i would definitely go" Meira is reported to have said.

He extended his current contract with the Bundesliga side in March 2006 until 2010. He was a key player for the Swabians as they clinched the Bundeliga title last season.

Milito - Meira could also be pretty special...Meira was immense last season for Stuttgart and did very well at WC 2006 as well

Haven't seen much of him but I haven't been overly impressed by what I've seen. Would still prefer him to Luisao though.

Erhhhmm...I'm also still around, guys. First, some statistics:

    Age: 29
    Height: 190 cm
    Weight: 85 kg
    Bundesliga matches/goals: 145/8 from 2001-2007
    Matches/goals for Portugal: 24/1

    And now my two cents:
IMO Meira is a very solid defender who played a big role in Stuttgart's championship this year. Due to his height, he's very good in the air. He'sone of the Bundesliga's best defenders which makes him an option for Juve, too.
I think he's strong enough for Serie A, but I wouldn't mind a younger player to come to us.
