There have been some okay ones among some really awful ones with both Nike and Adidas. In my view it really is about the casualisation and commercialisation of the game compounded with the kinds of brands both Nike and Adidas have become. Adidas and Nike are way more than sports brands. They're pop-culture institutions, fashion/design institutions really. They almost constitute a duopoly in the market they've outgrown their competition that much.
So they're engaged in a race to the bottom - who can be more edgy and set the next big trend first? The most important thing in marketing is differentiation. Aesthetic considerations don't even come into it. A product can be as shit as anything - good! People are taking notice. As long as it sticks out. And people will buy it because they trust Nike and Adidas know what looks good. That's the power of a strong brand.
Juve's revenue strategy is based purely on the same doctrines and techniques that the brands making their shirts adopt. It's sad but this is modern marketing and it's infecting sports of all kinds. Objective perceptions about good and bad are just not in the equation anymore. It's easier to make something bad that people will talk about than something good that's worth noticing. Design a shit jersey, relate it to some half baked concept and voila! $$$$$
