Don't know about him but they say he's one of the better ones we got atm with Pasquato and Esposito. Last 2 are more promising I think.

I think we should start getting taller Primavera players. The better ones we have are all less than 5'10''. Especially in defense. I don't see a lot of promising youngsters there. Maybe Migano because he was the U-17 captain or something but I never saw him play.

Casiraghi Hails Fiorentina And Juventus' Youth Policies

Italy under-21 national team coach Pierluigi Casiraghi praised the policies adopted by Fiorentina and Juventus, who appear to place great emphasis on young Italian players...

Casiraghi wanted to thank the Viola and the Bianconeri for making life easier for him, thanks to their commitment of fielding young players in their first team. This seems to be of particular importanced at the back.

"Italy is enjoying a generation full of talent up front," declared the former Lazio striker.

"Even in midfield, we've seen good changes following the introduction of Aquilani, Montolivo and Nocerino.

"However, we lack alternatives in defence," he added.

"The problem remains: showing trust in the young players and not freezing them because they did not convince you in the small part of the game they played in is important.

"In Italy the imperative is to win straight away and it leads the big clubs not to trust the young players.

"But Fiorentina decided to aim towards youth, and Juve found themselves in Serie B and without many champions."

"This was good luck for many young players like Chiellini, Marchisio, Palladino and Paro. Now that they're back up, Juve is still counting on them, also because they cannot recover the likes of Cannavaro and Zambrotta," concluded Casiraghi.

Youth team, super poker of goals against Pisa

A great performance by the Youth Team, who won their 9th consecutive match, at home against bottom-placed Pisa, and closed the first part of the season in first place. The final result was 5–1, thanks to goals by Daud and Essabr (two each) and Bottone. Juve dominated the match despite several players missing (Castiglia, Esposito, Pasquato). The players exhibited a lot of fair play on the pitch and after the match they carried out a "third half" meet-and-greet in midfield.
The win over Pisa was the best possible way to begin a period that will see Chiarenza's boys facing many important games in the next few days: Wednesday the Italian Cup returns and Juventus will play against Atalanta at home at the Chisola for the first quarter finals leg. Next Saturday the League return fixtures start and the calendar immediately offers a match with title rivals Brescia.

Then on Monday January 28, the 60th edition of the Viareggio Youth Tournament will kick off. The Bianconeri will make their debut on Tuesday the 29th against Mexican side Pumas.

Teenage Wonderkid Setting Pulses Racing At Juve

Excitement is growing at Juventus over the future of 14-year-old Andrea Schiavone, so talented that he is already set to be called up to play for the Primavera side.

Schiavone has been described as having an uncanny similarity to the style of play of Milan superstar Andrea Pirlo.

The midfielder is so far superior to those in his age-group at Juventus that he is set to be called up to play with players three-to-four years older than him in the Primavera side.

"For Andrea age-group is not a problem,” said his current Coach Domenico Maggiora.

“He has a very strong personality and I am convinced that he will already be playing for the Primavera side in the Spring.

“He contests the game well, jumps and heads well and has a great shot, especially with his right foot.”

There has been an explosion of teenage talent in Italy in recent weeks with first Mario Balotelli of Inter and then Alberto Paloschi of Milan.

The belief is that Schiavone has just as great a potential as both of these players.

"It truly is a joy for the nursery of Juve,” said Mister Massimo Maddaoloni.

“He has the quality of Andrea Pirlo in the way that he sees and reads the game. He also can be compared to [Daniele] De Rossi due to his dynamism and fight.”

yeah that happens a lot, young guys are included in youth teams because they developed faster than other kids their age and effectively have the build of a full grown man when everyone else in their team is still learning how to use their first mach3 turbo. I know a few people who were like that.

but i think it is more common occuring in the UK than in europe where players technical ability counts a lot more than someones physical stature (e.g. Giovinco)

I remember hearing about about Gio when he was around the same age as Schiavone, and he has turned out pretty good so hopefully this will be the case too.

Time will tell, lets just hope Secco doesnt sell half of his ownership!
