Maybe the stars wouldn't come off and they washed the shirts to hot. And the colors faded?

The patch above the crest was because Nike must have printed a lot of shirts with the 2 stars on already and had to hide them afterwards or something like that.
I know it sounds ridiculous but it's the only thing i can come up with.
