How would we be allowed to have trenta but not the three stars?
Because the stars are tied to the FIGC sporting laws. You need to have an official "federal" championship in order for the title to be counted as being part of a star. There are no rules in the FIGC laws that bans writing "trenta", hence, it is allowed.

Under the circumstances, I can't blame Juve for not inserting three stars. We can't risk to fuck with the FIGC and Lega Calcio during this betting scandal shit, they'll just fuck us even more.

what a fucking joke (as in the figc sporting laws). HOWEVER, they shouldn't have gone around with this three stars BS if they couldn't put it on the shirt in the first place.

No third star for Juventus
By Football Italia staff

Juventus have confirmed that they will not add a controversial third star to their shirts for next season – but a new motto will be present.

The Old Lady were threatening to place another gold star on to their jerseys to highlight their belief that they have won 30 Scudetti.

The record books, however, because of the two stripped Calciopoli titles, illustrate that the Turin giants have officially won 28.

“The new Juventus shirt will not have the third star on it,” stated Juventus commercial director Francesco Calvo to Sky Sport Italia.

“Instead, under the club logo, will appear the words: ’30 vinti sul campo’ [30 won on the pitch],” he revealed.

“Our shirt represents Juventus and their people. Just the club along with all the fans can define our identity.”

Calvo also added that the outfit’s away strip next term will be all black. Juventus’ second jersey in 2011-12 was pink.

One gold star represents 10 Italian championships.

Not really. We did everything we could LEGALLY. Adding three stars to the shirt would be crossing the line & FIGC would do everything they could to ban Conte imo...
Not disputing that we did everything we could legally, but the club did boast in the beginning that the third star would be put on the shirt, so I just think they could've kept a bit more quiet and said "we'd like to, and we'll do our best to make that happen" or something.

Anyway, it doesn't matter now. I'm not really too bothered. The "star system" is an FIGC thing (despite being invented by the Agnellis). It's part of FIGC laws, their system and their way of thinking, so in a way it's cool that we're distancing ourselves from the entire thing.
