Where was this team on Tuesday night ????????? We looked amazing after such a disappointment. I was happy to see Lippi jumping up and down after Nedved's goal, I dont remember too many times when Lippi showed such emotion............

Not to rain on our parade, but I feel that Inter are a very average team this year. I watched Perugia beat on them, and Piacenza out-play them. If it wasnt for that 2 minutes of Vieri, Piacenza would have pulled out at least a draw IMO.

I guarantee that Inter will not be in the scudetto race come May, in fact, I still think Lazio will finish ahead of them. It will be Milan and Juve in a dog-fight to the end !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that we can play like this against Deportivo in a few weeks (with DP !!!!!!!!!!!!)

Good way to silent the critics after the Manbuu game in the midweek :D A very good game from determined Juve against a somehow messy Inter. Anybody noticed the mistakes Toldo made? :howler: I'm glad Camo shot one pass him to make up for the "The Argentinian has nothing to do in Azzurri" rubish before Camo's call-up :eyepatch:

I was a bit worried when I saw the line-up on the TV, especially with Zambrotta in the back line again, but he did a very good job in the Derby. The rest of the defence worked well also, although my breath stopped for a moment when Montero decided to make that little pass to ? and Gigi had to rush out from the goal :D Great save from Thuram and his tip of the foot right before the nose of some Inter player

Di Vaio had a very good game, dont' you think? His speed is welcome, but it wouldn't hurt if he would shot his passes at Trez with less power. His dribbling was quite good from time to time. He was also very helpful with getting back and doing some defending.

Trez is looking a bit helpless and a bit pathetic up-front. This system doesn't suit him at all. Plus his passes back and not deciding to turn over and get forward ain't helpful as well. He needs someone besides him and few extra dribbling curses. I bet he can't wait for DP to get back :D

The midfield: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: No words as it dominated and trashed (literally as Inter only managed one serious attempt at our goal) neroazzurri! Tacchi is a must, Edgar got all the fights, Nedved is a killing machine (anyone else got as scared as me when he made the sub sign :scared: ) and Camo, although not as good as in the start of the season, made a fine job!

WOW .. my wish was granted --> humiliating Inter :cheesy:

I truly enjoyed every second of it .. from Toldo's howler .. to Guly's embarassment .. to Vieri's frustration .. it was just too perfect !! Neddy played his best game of the season, scoring a wonderful goal and providing the other two .. Di Vaio was outstanding too, he has certainly improved alot ..

Thank you Neddy, Thank you Juve :touched:

.............Trezeguet.........
Di Vaio........Nedved......Camoranesi
.........Davids......Tacchinardi.......

Hey... the players are exately the same that in the 4-4-2 :wallbang:
Is just the position in the field who change and as long as Di Vaio and Camoranesi retourn, this mieldfield is even more protected. The only difference is that Di Vaio start from the wing and mouve to the frontside while the team is attakking... Camo situation do not change so mutch cause he goes up and down also in the 4-4-2.

4 the moment I'm not laughting, but maybe I will when you will tell me why this mieldfield is less protected.
I'm curios to know wich reasons can come out :D

P.S.: Ah did you know that Inter is the second team after Juve in serie A and that this match (the Italian derby) is usually the one who decide the scudetto? Now you know...
Same players, but the task players are assigned are totally depending on the formation. Under 4-4-2 formation, Di Vaio will probably lead the due to his pace, and Camo and Nedved will play more orthodox position. The major benefit is that it kills off space for the opposition. Against Man U, if I remeber correctly, two of the goal came from their left hand side, and on the occasions they counter attacked they had similar number of attakers as our defenders. My argument is that if you play more orthodox 4-4-2. where by we have two proper full backs then we could have possibly gave them less space to damage us on the breaks. Inter team, is very good no doubt. The likes of Zanetti, Vieri, Recoba, Canna, Toldo, Emre, are world class and players like Cordova, Pasquale (though I am not convinced about his defensive abilitites), and Di Biagio are top professionals. The fact that I think we played well against Inter is that they are not a passing team, and they do not use their wings very well. This meant that they did not penetrate us down on the wings and secondly, they did not move the ball enough to expose us from lacking defenders. Defence is not all about winning the middle of park. It is important but it also involves denying time and space from opposition, and I think if we play teams like Real, Valencia, who either have good passing attack or good defensive team who can withstand our attack then some cracks will appear on the team. Beside, the Inter team we played on Sunday was very poor, and showed lack of heart and determination for me. And this result doesn't mean they are out of championship nor we will win the Scudetto. The margin between us, Inter and Milan are not so big right now, that one or two game does not decide the championship. It will be which team who can hold their nerve until May and play most consistently, that will win the Scudetto not the team that wins the "Derby of Italy" or Milan-Juve game or "Milan Derby". Last year we won the season, because we peaked at the right time, especially Alex.:), and won the the game we should have won. We had a poor record against quality teams last year, and yet still won the scudetto. This year, it seems to me, will be similar title race.

No doubt we were awesome on Sunday.:D. Our passing was crispe, and I thought Di Vaio's movement was completely different from the game against Man U. Most importantly, players showed desire, character and determination.
My question, is that can we continue playing under this formation well throughout the season, and that is this formation suitable against certain teams whose style of playing may be a problem to us.
For a time being however, I am prepared to stick with this formation, since I think team will lack creativity. And we did play well on Sunday. But once we qualify for the knock out stages of CL, which is big doubt but I am sure we can do it, then I would favor more defensive and cautious formation..:)

Lets not forget Inter is now lacking Crespo's presence. The team is quite average without him. Just take a look at how many goals Crespo scored for them when he just joined Inter ;)

i have found a juventini at my uni! and we have proceeded to paint the place black and white :)
but anyways - we also think that the match was fabulous. (then again, when you make inter look as stupid as we did, how could it be anything but fabulous.)
god bless rai internazionale.

This position is just the defensive version of our standard formation. It works as good.

Di Vaio has been transformed wonderfully. He admitted liking the new position Lippi has given him, which is playing wide on the left. He says that he is able to utilize his characteristics more, which is his speed. And it is true, I think he plays better on that wide position. Just teach him to place good crosses and I think we've found our new left winger.

If we successfully transform him to that wide left player, he can play DP, DV & DT all at the same time....

:D

Lets just hope that another Juventus success this seasons won'tl strike an ear at the Azzurri and take our beloved coach away from us...

I believe he played in that same position against Man united and was nowhere to be seen, its okay to savout this victory but there is no need to go overboard. The guy is a striker and one good game on the left gainst a poor side on the day does not suddenly make him a good left winger just as one bad game does not make him a bad striker. The problem with Italian managers is they always want to place a square peg in a roung hole, what is wrong in looking for a decent left winger? a decent left full back?
