alot of ppl against Riquelme.

I am all for his signing. He is a top player. People say he sucknow but he was awesome last year and the only reason he left Europe is cuz he was in a fight with his coach at Villareal. HE is tearing it up again in Argentina. I would not call him a choker either. When he was on the field for Argentina they played magnificently. He beat the piss out of the Inter mid when he played them in the CL and can hold onto the ball for days. He made Veron look like utter trash as he chased him around.

He may not be that fast but it does not matter, that is not his game. HE is certainly not lazy though just cuz he is slow. Well no more lazy than Zidane or Totti are in the defnesive department.

I think he would be great here cuz Juve have a huge will to do well and I think he does too despite all the people saying he is not a big game player.

Our team would go from struggling for 4th without him to very competitive (Assuming we make the other predictied signings)

Just imagine:

Del Piero--------------Huntelaar

-------------Riquelme-----------

Nedved--------------------Tiago

-----------Gilberto--------------

Chiellini--Milito--Barzagli--Grygera

------------Buffon------------------

I think that starting 11 is definatly capable of winning the league if it gels properly

Many people who are commenting on him seem to just be haters. also who gives a fuck where he is from. its is not like we should only buying french and Italian. that is very stupid

Is it me or Riqueleme's facials look like he's @ a funeral
could be alot worse ... Dhino

anyway for the guys who is saying Riquelme is a chocker ... when did he choke? and when he was a barca he was young and not give much of a chance.

and for ppl who say he was loaned out cuz he was not playing well .. he was in a fight with the club and not training so he was frozen out and sent on loan to Boca
He can carry a team if given the faith and freedom

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

The only Riquelme will succeed is if the team is built around him. If you do that he plays well, if you don't he chokes very simple. Now ask yourself this can Juve be built around Riquelme?

Riquelme is great, but he never looks happy when he plays :)
But his technique is absolutely amazing. The same goes for his in-game vision. Have you seen the way he dribles the ball under his feet?

But no, he never lokks happy, and I don't think hes psyche is strong enough for a competetive Juventus team.

Is he linked strongly?

With a midfielder like Gilberto Silva he wouldn't have to do anything defensively, not even work hard. Just spray the ball.

But as you say, I don't think he has what it takes to cut it in Juventus.

why not? Juve is being rebuilt after all.

and i don't think we would be exposed if we could get Tiago and Gilberto in the midfield with him and nedved

I think is much more qualified for Juve than 80% of the names we are linked with. Infact he is one of the biggest and most talented players we have been linked too.

He is sheer dominance and I think would fit Juve like a glove. HE controls the tempo and wwe need that. Especially with players like Nedved and Del Piero aging. He takes pressure off his team mates and takes the pace of the game into his hands. HE is also a definsive mid's nightmare.

I really rate him highly.

I don't think Riquelme can face the pressure in Juventus. Everybody would expect immidiate impact. He would crumble. I don't think he's strong enough to take it.

Besides, isn't he close to signing for West Ham?

I say if he comes cheaply he's worth a chance for next season. I also think the team calciojuventus picked has a shot at winning the scudetto with a little luck.

if he signs for west ham i will lose my god damn mind

and I disagree about the pressure thing. Plus players like Nedved and Del Piero and Buffon and Milito .. they divide the pressure. When he was at Villareal he took all the pressure and still took them into the CL, knocked out Inter and almost knocked out Arsenal.

In Villareal it was all on him. He did well with his national team too.

But he choked when the real pressure was on him and he had to take that last minute penalty;)

one penalty. every player has missed penalties.

and we have Del Piero for that anyway.

I hope Juve come through and sign him. he would also be available for a great price compared what he would have cost last year.

If Milan do buy Dhino for 70 million pounds we will be brilliant to sign Riquelme for like 10 or 15 million Euros.. if that?
