haha you guys are this people who always are with players that are already respected. i look how they play, not on their popularity. the same was with forlan i knew he was good when he was in man Utd, riquelme i knew that this guy was good when he was at barca, with diego i knew he was good when played in porto, kanoute he didnt play much at tottenham but i knew he will be good with a little bit regular football, cannavaro when he played at inter, pirlo when he played at inter. enough examples, and not to forget andreas hinkel the guy should also be in my list, he is good.

haha he dude haha they proved themself haha but at that time they were underrated. so was riquelme in barca, but he proved his worth in villa.
He was not in anyway underrated in Barcelona! He couldn't cut it.

He was the next big thing from South America. You can't claim that he was underrated. They paid over £20 mio. for him.

Okay Messias of Football, still, Benny Lauth is crap. He was crap with 1860, crap with HSV and even more crap at Stuttgart. Now nobody wants him.

First of all they paid £10 million for him... not 20

Also he was not given much of a chance at Barca by the coach and he was played out of position as a winger. He has proven himself since he left Barca.

We would be smart to get him. He can make us so much more that what we currently are, take us to the next level right away.

Does anybody here know that Riquelme needs the team to be built around him in order for him to have any chance of performing to his highest calibre? Villareal built the squad around him and gave him a free role to roam and do whatever he wants, with six other Argentinians in the squad as well as Friday night fiestas. Despite this, Riquelme choked in the biggest matches of his career... the matches against Barca and Real in La Liga and in the crucial stages in Europe, especially against Arsenal. The matches where he looked world class... against the likes of Osasuna, Alaves, Mallorca etc during his last season in Spain were... nothing more than the likes of Alaves, Osasuna, and Mallorca.

Does anybody here want the entire squad to be built around an inconsistent player? I would hope not.

Riquelme is no Kaka or Zidane or Gerrard or even Ronaldinho, so wake up people. He's not worth the trouble. And this is coming from a natural playmaker.

Benny was very promising and he was great for 1860, but then the injuries just killed his career and this season he was injury free but HSV couldn't give him a chance ( and the club was in turmoil in the beginning) and Stuttgart weren't going to rely on him, they just needed a back up forward.

And I dont want Riquelme here.
