Oh, maybe I haven't been reading right, but I've always thought it was just precautionary. Not because someone's hacking the server, but just incase somebody does hack it; therefore legit connections are denied...is the limit like 100 connections or something? It always happens heaps during matches, when there's most traffic.

No, there are no limits imposed by default, hence we had like 400 simultaneous connections when the attacks first started. Needless to say, that's not healthy for the server. So as a result of the attacks the limit was defined.

oic, thx for clearing that up.
But who knows, why wouldn't there be 400 simultaneous connections to a fansite of the world's best team?
It doesn't seem to be happening as much recently though, cool!

Because it never happened before and because it's unrealistic the number of connections would jump from 25 to 400 in 3 seconds? ;)

oh okay, didn't know about the fluctuations. I was just thinking, if there's a steady flow of users at that number, maybe it just means it's a popular site :D (which it is!)

Congratulations Mr President, I haven't had the annoying error in about 4 days straight. Maybe those Inter fans finally realised that not even having our forums down can dampen a juventino's spirits!
