It's a reason why Wolfsburg can pay that fee and salary, I don't know what excuse you are referencing. Wolfsburg signed a player over Juventus, boo hoo, the embarrassment. I suppose we should have just paid the money, like we did with Alex Sandro and Dybala. Or maybe a German wants to stay in Germany, it's been mentioned once or twice before.
So just pay the fee for Sandro and Dybala, both of whom have similar profiles to Draxler, but don't pay the fee for Draxler who was incidentally coming for a position we need the most? Now, even Wolfsburg have the sway over Juve and Germans want to stay in Germany. Okay.

It's neither Wolfsburg's nor Man City's fault. It's the fault of Juve's officials.

They have been talking about buying Goetze, Mikhitaryian, Draxler - no wonder nobody takes them serious. It's funny how here are hundreds of pages about this player in the german teams weren't even really talking about Juventus.
Fully agree with you.

The only mistake of our management was not focusing on alternative options. 36m for Draxler is way too much and I'm happy we didn't pay that

That would mean, everything in the media was true. It wasn't. Most of the time we have no clue what rumors are actually true.

 Boring shit. The apologists are going to regurgitate the same BS excuses. We could have wrapped this a while back, if we were actually fucking serious. Typical Italian lethargic, lazy, nonchalant attitude. German team pops up, and nabs him in a few hours. Incisive and decisive. Now let's see what the one eyed genius has as a backup fucking plan. Selling Vidal, then Coman, and now losing out on Draxler, and we have yet to see that fucking AM that was apparently "promised" to us before the Roma game, unless the management are delusional to the extent that they think a brainless potato farmer aka Cuadrado is actually the solution :howler:
Sounds like you're a closet Bayern fan.

Not sure about that. It's quite possible that there are alt options. Beppe is cheap, but he is not stupid. We just don't know the whole picture. For some reason they think that Dybala is worth 32+bonuses and Draxler doesn't. I don't agree with that, but let us see what will happen till deadline.

What we are prepared to pay. And tbh I agree with the management on this one, he would be a bigger gamble than either of the two we signed. €36m + €27m for a three year contract, get out of here...

TBH I highly doubt Draxler would solve any of our problems, but still it sucks to not sign a player we have been linked to for the whole summer.

Like most have said on here, it looks like the draxler ship has sailed. Schalke are not like Leverkusen who sold us Vidal for cheaper than they would have got from Bayern and you can't really blame Schalke for holding out for what they feel he is worth.
