I get closing a thread if a player extends a contract, or the transfer window ends, or if he gets traded to another team. But if there's still activity??

Too often I think posters here want to close transfer threads as a sour grapes, knee-jerk reaction to their frustrations about closing a potential transfer. As if shutting down the thread to hold any more public conversation on a player allows them to experience a "premature closure" -- so that they can move on because life is too emotionally difficult for them to keep threads like this open. Can't have that failure to close something keep nagging at us, right?

And to that, I say: that's childish, so deal, OK?

If there's no news, there's little to post. And nobody is being forced to go back into transfer threads where they don't want to go. Just because you close the thread doesn't make the issue go away.

Everytime someone comes in this Transfer section and reads let's say Summer Mercato thread , than they check around and 'boom' the Draxler topic pops up as is of maximum interest , some of us dont stay 24/7 to read every single comment around there and most of them are anyway off topics , but the point here is we selling fake hopes , is not about emotional drama or bullshit like that but everytime you see this topic you think maybe is something new , some positive stuff , but than u end up scrolling 10 pages in which there aren't any news since 3 days ago and thats just disappointing man , nobody forces anyone to check threads they not interested in , but for example myself i hope for a positive news about Draxler but none really existing ... this thread messes with fans heads , i also still think there is still hope in this transfer but since the last official news we were something like officially told to GO AWAY by Schalke , which doesnt really back up any of the "news" and "comments" made by most around here.

I don't get the infatuation with thread locks and closures. This is supposed to be a discussion forum. I come here to discuss all things Juve, which is kinda difficult to do in real life.

The question then comes down to whether Juventuz is a news source or a community of fans to commiserate. It kind of serves both purposes, but I'd argue that the latter purpose is unique (there are better dedicated news sources out there) and it is the purpose that the Tuz serves best.

I do agree with you , mostly since the first comment but i just wanted to point out what some may feel about this very active thread.
Some might get better insight here , the news do spread around , but the italian news are best put out here on Juventuz , especially for international fans who get better insight just by reading discussions around. Some news who seem important for Juventus fans might get "jumped" by english media.

I personally feel that it would work out better for this kind of situations if the discussions would take place in a different thread/section.

Berardi is no provincial player but the best Italian talent since Veratti, and Zaza is a decent back-up striker. Both are very young. Paying 13 million for them on average is a seriously great deal.

Although I'm still waiting for a confirmation on that 18 million buyback thing.

but i dont like the Zaza deal to be associated with Berardi all the time. Zaza is an excellent striker for the role he has, and the price is reasonable too (the 18M we paid this summer, if we count the payments from previous years, its 11.5M which is an excellent deal for a 24 year old starting striker for Italy). if we look at for how much other players of his quality go, it makes the 11.5M look even more a great deal. and we bought Zaza from Atalanta in 2013, we bought Berardi around the same time and it was clear even then that he will come here (if he impresses). point is, we would have got Berardi anyway, regardless of what happened with Zaza. the 7.5M we received last year was a way to spread our payment, considering our budget last year wasnt that big compared to this season. when we got 7.5M for him last year, it was clear we will evenutally buy him to me

Meh it may stay open but we're not getting him. Their DS said no more talks and I'll take his words ahead of those incompetent journalists like GDM who know basically nothing.

We want the kid and need reinforcements for the AM position pretty quickly so the newcomer can gel with the rest but at the same time we're waiting to send another offer just when we leave for the super cup? How's the first connected to the other? The later we bid for the kid the higher the price will be. There's no logic behind this at all.
Schalke know we have the money from Vidal's sale and it makes sense for them to keep Draxler anyway. They won't be able to replace him properly anyway and if he does well he'll leave for twice as much as he'd do this year.

So we set this complex thing in wich we'll buy him back for , when the time comes, surprisingly little compared to for example Dybala. Why ? cause we payed a part of it allready now when we take zaza.

That 18 mil isnt for zaza. A part is, but a part is counted towards the berardi repurchase wich we'll do later. I think its an excellent way to keep our good relation with sassuolo going, and making sure that berardi will keep getting games

we bought 50% of Berardi for 4.5M in 2013 after a serie B season, which was a fair price. 2 years later we sell his half for a low 10M (considering the 2 seasons he had) and get a buyback for a supposedly 18M fee (i think we will buy him for around 20-25M still, since there is no mention of the buyback in the official agreement). now lets look at what we have here. we bought him for 4.5M (basically exchanged half of Marrone for his half) and then sold his half for 10M. if we buy him for the supposed 18M (which i still doubt, same was said about Zaza with his 15M buyback, and we bought him for 18M), thats 12.5M spend on him, which is amazing. if that happens, then you are right ofcourse. however, since i doubt he will go for such a "low" fee, more like 22-23M, then thats 16.5/17.5M, which is a bit less total spending than we would have if we bought him this year probably, but he is staying there for another season on "loan" so that reduces the price a bit. if the 2nd option happens, then he had nothing to do with Zaza, which i think will happen. but lets see what we will spend on him next summer before making definite conclusions i guess

Don't you think that it was just very uncommon negotiation strategy? Especially that Schalke did the some thing couple of years ago with Neuer and many sources from Italy confirmed that agreement can be reached anyway.
