Were people this impatient in the pre-internet era of transfers?

Now folk get irritable if an hour goes by without signs a deal is progressing.

Just think what it would have been like when it was all in the newspapers and - at most - you'd have a morning edition and an evening edition.

Anyone with a modicum of sense knows that significant transfers take time.

Add in the suggestion that Juve are waiting for Goetze's answer before committing to Draxler and you'd have to have the attention span of a goldfish to to think this transfer is taking too long already.

Heldt: ‘No Juventus offer for Draxler’

Schalke 04 sporting director Horst Heldt reveals Juventus have not yet made an offer for Julian Draxler.

The Bianconeri have been given permission to speak with the German international, but the director has told Kicker that a deal is a long way from being complete.

“If Juventus want him, then things can move forward,” Heldt explained.

“We haven’t received an offer, and if we did then we’re in a position to reject it. In any case, we’ll worry about that when we get an offer.

“We want to play fair, Juve asked us if they could speak with Julian, and we said yes with confidence.”

:howler: This guy, Marotta has him

Does that mean much though? :D

Buffon - Siqueira, Chiellini, Bonucci, Licht - Khedira, Marchisio, Pogba - Draxler, Dybala - Morata

(4321 or 4312, Dybala can play in both positions)
Nice blend of agility, finesse and running. More flair, but a less pressing and intimidation than the Juve of the last couple of years for sure. Less grinta but more natural ability.

best thing would have been if we sign draxler, he becomes a superstar and götze can regret the day he chose to rot on Guardiola's bench than to become the focal point of our offense.

Goal.com already has a column about how we're going to sell him to an epl club next summer. I would copy the link but that would mean more hits for goal.com.
well, they wouldn't be wrong. The only thing Draxler has to do apparently is tell Beppe he wants to leave and the door will be open.
