The only thing that I can surmise from all this is that it has nothing to do with his previous injury. If he is still struggling with it, there is no way that Fiorentina would give up one of their better players for someone who is still injured.
Not necessarily. We know about Quag's injury more than anyone else. We know what it was and how serious it was. We know what are the chances an injury of that nature to be repeated even if Quag feels fine at the moment and could easily pass a medical.
The other teams don't really know anything about it.

I'm just speculating, of course. It makes no sense to me Marotta to sell the guy who together with Krasic makes his last year's mercato look better. If Quag was bought by Secco I could imagine Marotta selling him. This way though, I see him selling Quag only for huge money or if the doctors prognosis weren't optimistic.

I don't buy the injury speculation, why would they buy him in the first place if there was no room for recovery? Marotta can't be that much on an idiot.

IMO the problem with Quag is the Euro 2012. As he has to be a regular in order to be picked, ad he is facing alot competition both in Azzuri(Rossi, Cassano, Pazzini, Matri etc) and juventus(Espc. Del Piero). I remember before the World Cup he used to have problems in Napoli for being subbed out. However lets hope he stays and performs well.

Come on, it's clear why we bought Quag. We were obligated to buy him. Just like we were obligated to buy Matri, Pepe and Motta. All season long we were saying that we will have to buy those 4 and we aren't obligated to buy Rinaudo, Aquilani and Traore. It was a public secret that the "money for loan+rights to buy" were nothing more but purchases paid in one more installment than the allowed three installments.

just as fiorentina knows more about vargas past injuries and the probability of him being sidelined again soon...

if it was a straight swap i would actually welcome it, because vargas is someone for a position we need, while we might not find it difficult to find another striker...

I'd swap Quag for Vargas. Both are the same age, the only difference is that we actually need Vargas for our team while Quags would only sit on the bench.

Or option3: Conte really has a big say in incoming/outgoing transfers & decided that Vargas suits our needs better than Quag.

Edit: not entirely different from what Suns just said.

I wouldn't mind Vargas for Quaglia at all, as long as we could get Rossi to cover our forward line with more quality and equally depth. We need at least three quality strikers to be consistent in front of the goal and don't suffer with some injuries during the season. Del Piero would be a joker, but we can't rely on him to be one of those three.

Buffon; Licht, Lugano, Chiello, Ziegler; Krasic, Pirlo, Vidal, Vargas; Rossi, Vuci.
Storari, Bonucci, De Ceglie, Pepe, Marchisio, Delpie, Matri.

This would be sexy and probably enough to secure the third place, at least.

lol He means a winger and/or CB. We are definitely not signing Rossi. That's why we're offering 7M no more for Elia, trying to get a swap deal for Vargas, potentially offering 3M for Lugano and trying to get Alex on a loan. All signs tell us the funds are running out.

I also don't think we have enough money to buy Rossi now. As if we can sell Amauri, Iaquinta and Martinez.

Anytime.

Believe me, I don't agree with a lot of people on this forum.

I think I'm one of the few left who are optimistic about Marotta.

Although this move would piss me off to holy hell, unless he has another striker lined up. Wasn't too keen on Pepe either

If only we could sell Amauri and Iaq for decent money and buy Vargas outright instead of swapping Quaggers we'd all be happier. But Iaq has about as uch value now as Grosso does and Amauri has massive wages. Fucking Secco.

That can't possibly be true, injuries are part & parcel of the game. If true, Marotta certainly is a bigger moron than i thought.

Of course it can (and is true), it was just a way to get one more installment. The risk is same if you buy a player that he can get injured immidiately, the fact that it was a "loan" doesnt change our obligation.

We allllll know it's Del Piero pushing Quagliarella out. Otherwise he's fourth choice!
