If Quag's injury isn't that serious, then it's really stupid to exchange him for Vargas.

Such an exchange will be ok only if Quag's injury problems are serious and/or if we're planning to buy Rossi or some other attacker better or just as good as Quag.
Wait, wasn't Amauri supposed to be in the deal for Vargas? Are you just assuming it or you have read it somewhere?

I don't see us getting any striker really. Would be weird to see any of Vucinic, Matri or Rossi on the bench as they are all 17mln+ worth of players.
If we're planning to get on top soon, then we will simply have to have quality on the bench. Think of Robinho, Pato, Zlatan or Pazzini, Eto'o, Milito. Just as expensive, or more expensive than our strikers, but one of them had to be benched.

Yeah but I think it's rather silly for us to do so because our squad is quite weak on several positions (LB, DC, LW) so it would be like throwing money away. I don't think our attack has ever been a problem really, as we had players to bang in goals. The idea of us NOT investing properly in our defense really kills me. IMO it's rather silly to spend 15mln+ on Rossi if we don't have a proper left winger while Ziegler is a waste of space, our left side is gonna look terrible I think.

Oh, well pardon me but I happen to not speak italian. :)

According to Sportmediaset Marotta was convinced to give Quag for Vargas. After a consultation with Conte, Marotta was told that Quag would be a bench player and Vucinic would be the starter. That exchange would also leave more money for a CB and the money would be invested in Alex. Also, in case Quag leaves, Iaquinta would stay at least until January and Pasquato might stay too, meaning we won't be looking for an attacker to replace Quag.

Looks like pure speculation from Sportmediaset.

Honestly that might seem like a good idea if our strikers stay fit but they probably won't. I'd prefer Lugano and Quag to Alex and Iaquinta.

Depends if we are going to sign Rossi or not. I think we'll make a move for him after Villareal played their CL qualifier. Trading Quag for Vargas would be wise and could improve our team a lot.

Quag for Vargas
Rossi for 25M
Alex on top of that.

Buffon
Lichtsteiner - Alex - Chiellini - Ziegler
Krasic - Vidal - Pirlo - Vargas
Rossi - Vucinic/Matri

that's a sexy team.

Seriously if this is true than Marotta needs to be shot.

There is three strikers that need to be sold before they can even think of getting rid of Quags (injury problems or not)

I still think its just pure media bullshit. They are trying to put 2 and 2 together.

Yea right, Rossi after saying playing at Napoli would be the best. And I don't get it. We can have Vargas and Alex without giving away Quag. So why the fuck not? It soesnt make the team any less sexy. Believe it or not. Fuck this shit. Idiotta will never learn from his mistakes.

I don't get it. The guy is a fucking idiot if he sells Quag. Amauri, Iaquinta and Toni are all on the sell list before you could even consider a sale or trade like this. How many new players does the moron want in the lineup?

Sure.

We've been intrested in Rossi since the confed. cup.

We made a move that season. Got rejected.
We made a move last season when we had Delneri. He needed to replace Diego. We wanted a loan + option to buy. Got rejected, Villareal would only want to sell him.
We made a move for him this season, it was close but we wanted to give 22 + 8m bonuses and Villareal wanted more. Later when negotiations dragged on they decided to sell Cazarlo and said that Rossi wasnt on the market. If they fail out on CL then they would be wise to sell him, since a fourth spot will be out of their reach with or without Rossi and this is their biggest chance of cashing in on Rossi since he had his best season.

Sooner or later Rossi will be a Juve player. If we fail to sign him this season, we'll be first in line next season.
