@Monco Welcome back you fucker. How do you feel about our Mercato moves thus far?
Thank you. :)

Thus far? Fairly decent. Iturbe is great, a young, fast, tricky winger, who has loads of potential and can be one of our leaders in the next decade. Of course, he will have to prove himself here and in the Champions League, but I think he will do well. He needs a good tutelage, because he's still a pretty raw talent, loves to be with the ball and is not very keen on passing it to others, but I think that's is great, we need someone who wants to show off and take the initiative. Also, almost every player, that was labelled as "the new superstar of football", was selfish with the ball, so I don't see a big problem here. Also, he is known to be a little bit of a bitch, hope we won't face these problems.

Evra is a decent signing. He has a shit-ton of experience, can play at the highest level for at least couple of years and is a great guy in general. Although our defence is quite experienced as well, I'm kind of glad we have Evra too now, because he can be a great leader and he could be invaluable during those CL matches, where our whole defence go full retard. I would have loved if we went for Ricardo Rodriguez or Alex Sandro for example, because they would have filled that LB gap for many years, but as a temporary replacement, Evra is probably one of the best players that you can get, especially for this price. I figure he will do pretty well in Italy, considering the tempo is slower here than in EPL and older players with brains can still be very useful here.

I'm not really sure about Morata. Yes, he's a great talent, but I'm not sure he's worth the money that we are supposedly going to pay. I'm not going to judge him straight away, so I'll just wait until the first couple of matches and then we'll see what he can do on the pitch.

I'm happy we are investing in youth, I haven't seen neither of Coman and Sturaro play, but it's always a smart choice to invest in young players, especially since our whole team is quite old.

And what do you think?

So we only offer 18m for our "top target" Sanchez but offer 29 for Iturbe?

And why do we keeping having to up our offer if it was reported last week that it was a done deal?

Something doesn't add up here.

Beppe: 25m plus bonuses

Verona DS: Done. He will sign next week.

Beppe phones back: 29m plus bonus

Beppes been so good at trolling other teams hes decided to troll himself.
Could be because perhaps we never actually put a genuine bid in for Sanchez and maybe his agent told Juve his salary demands and we said nope and walked away.

we can.

and I'm getting sick of it.
Welcome to my life.

29.5 for Iturbe and 22 for Morata = 51.5. Their wages, when combined, also equal over Sanchez's wages, I believe.

Sanchez could've been ours.

I understand that these two players are filling roles but let's not pretend Sanchez was out of our reach.

Morata's fee can cover his wages and Iturbe's fee with a few millions over will cover the transfer. We are paying 52 M€ for these two unknown entities along with a close to retirement Evra and a few players here and there that will never set a foot on the football pitch. That is called bad business with absolutely no vision.

We are spending money on two promising players . It is true that we could afford him , but with his money we got 2 payers . What this shows is that we are not ready to give all that money for 1 player . Plus we still have to see the end of the mercato and need to understand where everybody will play . We simply may have opted to get 2 players to complete the squad instead of spending just for 1 and leave us in need for players . I don't think that spending on 21 year old players could be considered no vision .

Either one of Morata and Iturbe could be better than Sanchez within a year let alone by the time they're 26 (Sanchez's age) which is 4 years away.

Sanchez is good but he will not put us over the top in any manner. I don't even think he's better than Tevez.

It's huge risk though, Sanchez is not risky at all.

The kid played the entire season as a 20 year old in a new league and country and helped make Luca Toni play like the Luca Toni of 10 years ago.

It's a risk I wouldn't mind taking.
