Skriniar hasn't been Inter's best defender this season. That title is reserved for De Vrij who is a natural fit for Conte's system as the central player in that three man backline. Both Godin and Skriniar have struggled this season partly due to the change in formation/tactics. They're not suited to play as the wide CBs in a three man backline. Bastoni is the other player that has shown a lot of promise and looks like someone who will have a settled role in that system as LCB.

I read somewhere they paid over 30mln for Bastoni. Crazy.

Time to sell struggling Skriniar and bring in someone who has a long experience of playing in a 3 man backline:
