these SeireA free trades are deceiving, just look at Milan's wage structure. Mexes is supposedly on €4m net + agent fees + signing on bonus, that makes him more expensive than Bonucci's wages+amortization costs. Llorente most probably costs more than what Matri used to cost Juve per year (wages+ amortization of €15.5m over 5 years). Lewandowski was reported to get a €15m signing on fee, that wouldn't have been the case if Bayern were paying Dortmund a transfee fee. there are hidden costs to these trades, you have to consider these before getting excited by free. also more importantly, Menez shouldn't be a starter for a Juve dreaming of the semifinals or finals of CL, so whatever the cost, it's going to be for a bench player. it's also affects Juve's and SeireA's image and commercial capabilities when they try their luck with washed up unwanted players.

Menez's on €3.4m net now according to http://www.tsmplug.com/, if he comes for free he might be earning close to Pirlo or Vidal. the alternative is renew Giovinco who imo is similar level winger and backup, currently eaning around €1.5m net, plus if Giovinco is renewed his amortization cost would cost down from around €3.5m to €1.2m, that will hopefully go to the transfer budget (add about €10m to transfer fees that can be amortized over 4 or 5 years).
I much rather Juve go big on a winger and get a promising youngster for backup than pay washed up players like Menez wages like that.

actually no, but I would prefer that you google how and why assets are amortized or depreciated to get a minimum understanding, otherwise this conversation is hopeless.
