We need players like Tacchinardi and Marchisio. They are indeed the water carriers of the club. And since Claudio is a Juventino, he will get extra points -- both from a love perspective and ratings on the pitch. It's only natural.

But if you had to choose between Marchisio or Pastore, and I mean seriously choose, only a fool would not pick the Argie.
Exactly, I agree completely. I like Marchisio and think he's good for us (not as a starter tho, but as a watercarrier from the bench), and I'd rather give someone else for Pastore, but if it was a choice of him or Pastore, I'd take Pastore any day of the week.

Where would be Juve's identity if the likes of Buffon, Marchisio, and Chiellini were sold? And people talk like if Marchisio is a bad player, he might not be a world class talent, but he's very solid and versatile. I think his game is lacking confidence, I remember in the time under Ciro he was playing with more confidence, trying some tricks and shooting from outside the box, but then again he's getting played out of position as a left winger, and he's doing okay for himself and he's not complaining.
Name me a player who's capable of giving a decent performance all across the midfield, and doesn't complain if he's not playing or if he's played out of position, name me one.
I'd say Buffon's case would resemble Pastore's more than Marchisio's. :D

pastore in our team ? On the SS position he would be devastating.
Teams would struggle to mark both pastore and krasic, and aqua would get alot of room in the midfield. we also would become very pacy going forward on counters
what you seem to forget is, that dribbling past three players is way easier in midfield than closer to the opponents goal. add to that, that the opposing defenders would mark him very tightly even before receiving the ball you can not tell how he would fare as second striker just by seeing him drop deep in midfield and making his backheels there

I can approve this statement as it's much easier for me to beat defenders playing CM then when I play as a SS

We are an italian team, not a spanish or brazilian one. we prefer the dribbels at a place where they are actually deangoures and wont catch us out of position when it leads to loss of possession. (unless ur pepe and are leading inter 1-0:sergio:)

Pastore is more then just dribbeling, its also his vision and passing, his way to create space for himself. he doesnt rely on this dribbels
offcourse there is less dribbels when the opponent pack the center, but that gives room on the very good right wing.

with pastore, we also have excellent fast attack options when recovering the ball.

how many times do you see the SS getting the ball now, not making any speed with it, passing it back, while the opposing defence gets back into position ?

Still, its too early to say wether we will buy him or not.

If we reach CL and our transferbudget is pretty big, I don't see why Marotta won't try him. He always talks about adding quality in summer.

Fuck me, but someone actually wroter this? What a sorry sad bunch we are if Marchisio would be most consistent. But sadly he isnt, unless you mean consistently average/ghost in games except when he has some good form like recently.
I know, right? Some of this Marchisio ball-tonguing is getting out of control. Marchisio indispensable? Marchisio consistent? Marchisio a "legend in the making" (as some would have you believe)?

Seriously, get the FUCK outta here with that shit.

...and to refuse Pastore because of him?

Excuse me while I die of laughter.

There's a reason why Pastore's attracting the interest of Europe's biggest clubs and Marchisio can only hypothetically "refuse offers from them".
:sergio:
So he is not one of the most consistent performers? Fuck me indeed.

Since most people on the forum value player ratings quite a lot (case in point being the Giovinco thread):

Marchisio's average rating this season is 6,17. Discounting Barzagli, only 2 players have a higher one: Melo (6,18) & Quag (6,28). Yet there seems to be a consensus that Marchisio has been decent, but nothing more.
There also seems to be a consensus that Giovinco has been absolutely great, one of the best players in Serie A this season even. His average rating is 6,25.
Thank you.
What are you expecting from Marchisio in our games?
I guess scoring and playing out of his role and doing just fine isn't enough. I suppose a pure CM playing as a LM needs to transform into Ribery to get some credit.
Those comments are crazy but I keep wondering what people are seriously expecting from Marchisio in his often restrictive role.

Maybe his goals output akin to a typical Pavel Nedved season isn't enough, he needs all his crosses and assists whilst doing the dirty work too?
It's pointless to try and turn the tide with some whom expect much more than he has already given.
Consistently decent :D

Seriously though, one of our top 5 performers imo
Thank you (again).

As quiet as Marchisio is during games as a Ghost that some mention it takes digging a little deeper to realize what kind of work output he puts forth for this team. You know, like the occasional goal, the endless running up and down the flank, pulling defenders, excellent passing completion...you know, the little things aside from the fancy shit that most people here expect from our players to only give them credit for.

Work horses never get credit, its the show ponies that capture the imagination of spectators. :fuckthehaters:

Your post is pretty pointless or irrelevant to what was said. No one is ignoring Marchisio because he isnt putting on Ronaldinho show.

I said he is one of our most consistent performers. You shot me down for saying it. Prove me wrong, then. I never said he was world class. I know he has potential to be great, but he is one of our most consistent performers.

My post identifies what he does well, even when he goes missing from the games from the TV set he is still doing good work when you can't see it. How is that pointless or irrelevant. A lot goes on in a game, not just what the camera is focused on.

If it were up to me, I'd pick Pastore over him if I weren't so sure he'd go to Barca after a couple years. Marchisio loves the club.

Put it this way, if Marchisio also was playing for Palermo and we had to choose between him and Pastore! Anyone who knows just something about this game, would ofc pick Pastore!! But it's different now that we have Marchi here! He is a favorite among the fans and that makes us blind sometimes.. Still fuck it, I'm sure Marotta would NOT give Marchisio away in any deal, and we might still get Pastore..
