Zampa said he wouldn't take Gio or Amauri in a deal for Pastore but would like Marchisio. He likes Matri and Chellini too.

f*ck him, you take cash or sell him for cash + Iniesta. :p

Marchisio is a rare player, Pastore will most likely become an elite player, a Ballon D'Or material, something March would never become. But if Juve got relegated or failed to finish in the top 10 for few years, you know that Pastore would pack his bag and leave for the first offer, while March wouldn't.

Marchisio is from the same breath of the likes of Giggs, Del Piero, Zanetti, Maldini and Totti, definitely not in terms in talent, but in the way he's committed to the club. I would say he's Juve's version of Gary Neville or Carragher, not the most talented but very loyal and loves the club.

It's harder to find a player who truely loves the club than to find a player who's world class.

    Good post, Pavel.

A lot, or even most, of us Juve fans "laugh" at teams like Man City who just buy amazing players without having a true identity.
Yet a lot of those same people would have no problem in sacrificing a player who's slowly but surely becoming an icon of the club in order to get the flavour of the month.

Funny thing: Last time I was in Turin, I picked up this "100 Campioni" book in the Juve store, 100 players selected from the entire Juventus history. 4 of our current players are in the book: DP, Gigi, Chiellini & Marchisio.

Ι would love to see Pastore here, i follow his career since his first appereances with Huracan and i really believe he can be world class material, but Marchisio cannot move from Juve.
Buffon , Chiellini , Marchisio are ment to be with us( Alex is out of the question of course, he is the one and only) and we should not even consider using anyone of them as a transfer exchange possibility.

WHo's to say Pastore wont become an icon? Didnt we sell Zidane who was opne of the best players in the world and one of our "icons" (or at least becoming one) and got 3 players, two out of which become icons?

That was an entirely different situation, to me at least. Selling Zidane gave us the funds to acquire 3 (!) class & already proven players. Still a sacrifice, I admit, but one that made sense.
In this situation, selling Marchisio (who already is perceived to be just as much, if not more, of a Juve icon) would give us about 1/3 of a hot prospect.

It's just a silly rumour anyway. As if we're really going to give away a Juve youth product turned Italy international...

I wouldn't give them Marchisio's boots. Marchi is a project for 15 years ahead. Pastore is an overpriced prick and way too overrated.
I understand keeping Marchisio (want the same), but calling Pastore overrated in the same sentence Marchisio is mentionned is bit lolsy. He is considerably better player. Overpriced yes, but thats for a reason, and others will pay that overpriced fee if we dont.

Marchisio stays. He is one of the most consistent performers we have,
Fuck me, but someone actually wroter this? What a sorry sad bunch we are if Marchisio would be most consistent. But sadly he isnt, unless you mean consistently average/ghost in games except when he has some good form like recently.

Because I dont see any of the players as special. There might be better players, more important ones, ones with longer history at the club, etc, but none of them are special. The club is special and I always try to see whats best for the club, not for the players. I love Buffon, I love Del Piero, I like Marchisio, but I will always put the clubs best interests before theirs.
Del Piero IS as special as they come in our clubs history, Gigi is fucking Gigi, no one like him, NO ONE (and been VERY much in the interest of the club to have such caliber of players in our roster). But Marchisio? Decent homegrown player, who is 25 and hasnt shown he is special, but mainly just solid. So is defenitely another story in its own. I'm speaking strictly quality of the player, not him being a committed homegrown Juventino.

I know, right? Some of this Marchisio ball-tonguing is getting out of control. Marchisio indispensable? Marchisio consistent? Marchisio a "legend in the making" (as some would have you believe)?

Seriously, get the FUCK outta here with that shit.

...and to refuse Pastore because of him?

Excuse me while I die of laughter.

There's a reason why Pastore's attracting the interest of Europe's biggest clubs and Marchisio can only hypothetically "refuse offers from them".

So he is not one of the most consistent performers? Fuck me indeed.

Since most people on the forum value player ratings quite a lot (case in point being the Giovinco thread):

Marchisio's average rating this season is 6,17. Discounting Barzagli, only 2 players have a higher one: Melo (6,18) & Quag (6,28). Yet there seems to be a consensus that Marchisio has been decent, but nothing more.
There also seems to be a consensus that Giovinco has been absolutely great, one of the best players in Serie A this season even. His average rating is 6,25.

I dont agree at all , Marchisio is already World Class . Pasotre may will be Ballon Dor winner , but i would prefere player who loves the club and give 100% from him self more than Lazy player who want to play for Barcelona .

I would say Marchisio is version of Juventus's Poul Schols .

Marchi must stay i prefere to get Neymar over Pastore man and plet play 4-3-3 .

And YES , Pastore is extremly overrated , what he did against us ?! Againts Merda for me he was FLOP OF THE MATCH , fuck Zammparini extremly overrated players .

U know in general I do agree with your approach (Not getting too attached to players and looking after whats best for the club).

What pisses me off about this rumour though is the way Zamparini looks at us as if we're another average club that he can simply snatch up our best players (talks about Chiellini and Marchisio) plus money for Pastore ! Who the fuck are we getting, Maradona ?!

Paying 30 odd millions on a player with a "potential" to be world class in the future IMO is just Dump.

sneijder, Krasic and many other talented players were brought for half that price and they're as great if not better than Pastore, so what makes this kid so unique. I've watched him with Huracan and i remember saying he'll be a hit in serie A back then but there are also many other talented players out there who can have a similar (or even bigger) impact in this league.
