Spanish reports quote Barcelona officials as declaring Juventus target Javier Mascherano “not for sale”.
It was reported today that the Argentinian midfielder, who can also play at centre-back has agreed a contract with the Bianconeri.
However, there is no deal between the two clubs, and the Turin giants may be unlikely to pay over €30m for a player who will be 32 next month.
Now Mundo Deportivo is quoting an unnamed Barcelona official as ruling out any sale.
“Mascherano is not for sale,” the director is reported as saying.
“He is untransferable.”
Mascherano is under contract until 2018, and the release clause in his deal is set at €100m, a price the Old Lady would obviously not meet.
