The main problem with Italy, as a league and footballing mentality, is the lack of trust shown in youngsters. There is a marked difference between the english and italian leagues, perhaps also the spanish and germans, but I have less knowledge of those realms...a marked difference, which can be seen right at the very top of the leagues. Alex Ferguson has ALWAYS given youth team players a chance, if they are performing brilliantly for the youth or reserves, and his first team is shattered by injuries. Fair enough, they may play once then not again for a year or so, but the point is, they are given a chance. English clubs tend to utilize the depths of their player pools, with less concern for inexperience, than their italian counterparts. Which is not at all just a Juve problem...its Serie A wide.

Wenger is separate, a special case, as he loves nurturing and knows damn well that improvement runs at an optimum with youngster playing competitive matches. So if they are good enough, they are old enough.

In italy, it starts with Are they old enough, then...are they good enough. Different cultures.

Serie A clubs are changing coaches too frequently and that's why many coaches are not willing to bet on unproven youngsters.

Like Zaccheroni and Ranieri, they don't even know if they will have a future in their current club and why would they care about nuturing the young talents.

It's a good point as well, coaches are not going to play young players so much if they have a couple of months to earn themselves a longer contract or keep the team steady. It's something you can do afforded time.

Ferguson has been at Utd for 24 years and built a team of big signings before he was able to bring in youngsters on top of that foundation, and he famously struggled for a while. Wenger is the same, 14 years at Arsenal, and when he came in he had the best defence in England to build on, and also brought experienced internationals on top of a few kids, to get where he is now. Personally I think Wenger has gone too extreme with his philosophy, but you need solid ground to bring through young players. Right now Juve is anything but solid, but we can afford to bring in one or two.

So much complaining that our youngsters don´t get that chance, Marchisio and De Ceglie is right now in the starting eleven, Giovinco is being raped from our coaches but still he is in the a-team, and this things happens to some players, Diego was on the bench in his last time with porto, zlatan with ajax on some point, maby a coach will come later who likes Giovinco if he still is here...

Paolucci is here now, only as a benchwarmer but still a player from our academy.

I can agree that we could give our youngster a chance earlier, but they go on loan first, and then they come back.. and if they take their chances they will be in the starting eleven.

Ekdal has been good in Siena, next year I believe that he will be in our a-team. If he playes good he has the chance to be a part of the team.

Immobile should stay but we will loan him out to siena or something I think, he scores 15 goals and he comes back!! ;)

    New links again.

He said there's no talks with teams just yet so that's good. He's not Udine player.

On Friday I leave for SA and then we'll see.

I think Giovinco should be loaned to Arsenal for a season then he would get his recognition and our coaches would understand he is a great player with tremendous potential and play him more often

Our head scout is back home. Hottest name he got on the list is this guy. He scored 3 goals while playing a SS so that's a plus. Seems he cover a lot up front.

Some other names are Nicolas Otamendi, Gabriel Funes Mori ("new Crespo").
