I absolutely love the idea of us playing County in our first game.

Beautiful gesture, and it shows our current owners care about our history and have respect for Notts, even though they are not the strongest team in England by any means. Always love when clubs know and respect their history in these days of modern football. Love it.

I'm shocked it didn't cross anyone's mind to mention Notts here. I gotta congratulate our officials, great pick of the opponent for the opening

i meant the big clubs in general,,,,even tho im quite glad with the history behind the occasion it is a bit depressing that we always settle for third or fourth choices in everything,,,transfers and inauguration matches...a bit sad...ah well

True, but pretty much all of the big clubs are playing in leagues where the season has already started and traveling to Italy to play a friendly would just be pointless, can't really blame them.

I don't think we have been rejected by anyone, it just makes the most sense to play with an opponent who has a historically sentimental, symbolic meaning to us. WTF do we have with MU or Barka ffs, besides obvious commercial value?
This is a perfect pick IMO, and oh hell yeah we'll beat them and we will be the ones in Black & White.

We did get rejected by United, and I don't think we ever tried for Barca. At least we'll win the goddamn game.

Notts County are delighted to announce that the club has been invited to play Italian giants Juventus in a friendly match to mark the opening of the Serie A side's new state-of-the-art stadium in Turin.
Notts Chairman Ray Trew, who has been in contact with his counterparts at Juventus in recent weeks, was delighted to announce the match and admitted that the opportunity was simply too good to turn down.
Juventus are expected to wear pink shirts for the first half of the exhibition match in Turin, with Notts in black and white, before the Italian side change to their new home strip for the 2011/12 season in the second half and Notts don a specially commissioned all-white strip.
