Thin rod or not, it's still a rod. Rods don't belong in modern stadiums. And there are four of them. The anti-juventini are going to have blast with this.
And by the way, they look like they could block the view of some of the skyboxes. Who the hell would pay thousands of euros a year for skybox with a god damned pole in front of it?

If they did manage to fuck the stadium up indeed, they can forget about restoring Juventus soon. The fact is if we went cheap on our main project that will haunt us in the foreseeable future. True - we were never reliant on the stadium, but it gives the facade to the whole team, and it means something if literally our front teeth is missing, due to budget constrains...
Still they were mentioning some pretty sleek Design companies, based in Torino that were working on the project. And them, being world leading brands, are unlikely to have participated in such a mess ... So let's hope it is just a temporary solution.

On second thought, who cares. A worthy trade off for a ground the club can rightfully claim as their own. Unless you're an architect, I doubt anyone would take offense. Like driving a nice car in the winter, only gear heads take notice.
Are these thing just thick cables, or are they polls?
If the former, it's not a big deal and it will not obstruct views to any noticeable degree. At hockey arena's they have mesh behind the goals supported by various cables, and they do not diminish the experience.
Does having tie rods make it easier to expand in the future? If yes, maybe it was a tradeoff to make expansion easier/less expensive in the future? If not, is this something we can correct down the road, or is it too critical to the overall design/construction, and would be akin to relaying a foundation?

Hmm I'll have a look at the Model of the ground they have in the Juventus thingy in the centre on Turin and see if that has them on. Perhaps it could just be the picture? 
Pretty sure that the model they made doesn't have these rods. But does that even mean anything if it was decided later on that these rods were necessary?
