I still don't understand why they would only build a 40,000 seat stadium.
Sure it's great for the present moment, but you would have to take into consideration the future. Just seems silly building something new, but so small. It's like these days building a one storey house instead of two. Or buying a 32 inch LCD instead of 42 (and I know that mistake from experience).

I think 50,000 would be perfect and it could not possibly cost too much more.

The main reason we never got anyone to our games was because the old stadium was just shit!
Just the fact there is a new stadium will attract more people to games. With violence is slowly (trying to be) phased out, it gives more reason for bigger crowds - that was another factor keeping people away from games.
We are trying to start a new era here and I just have a feeling this is cutting it short.
Season ticket sales had to be rejected today because we did not have anymore seats left. Sure that's only 25,000, but why limit yourself.

People say it's better to have a full capacity 40,000 seat stadium than an empty 50 or 60,000 seat stadium.
For starters, this is already limiting oneself.
And going by this theory, regardless of how big the stadium is, there is still going to be 40,000 people there. That leaves 10,000 free seats (which I think will be filled anyway, especially for those big games). That is not going to be detrimental to atmosphere, it will be filled from the front, so the crowd is still close together.
I have been to many games at the Sydney Football Stadium which holds 45,000, where the crowd there does not usually grow beyond 20,000. The atmosphere is still great and you have to take into Australian crowds not really singing and getting as involved as European crowds.

Look at Arsenal - a smaller club in comparison and they go and build a 60,000 seater. Stanley Park 60,000 with possibility to expand. These are clubs running at a massive debt. We don't exactly have that problem, our finances seem to be pretty good.

Even if we do have that room for that 10,000 seat expansion, it still seems weird not to go for 50,000 from the onset. We are one of the world's biggest clubs and should have a stadium to reflect that. Building a new stadium with such small capacity - a capacity which only just meets FIFA requirements for a World Cup - seems wrong. Not to mention all the other big events we will miss out on. Fair enough if it was an existing stadium, but this a new development.

But hey, I'm no expert.

I'm not so sure if the stadium is built with a future expansion in mind. The arcitect and the engineers know more about that. I hope so though. However if that's the case, I'm sure if demand for tickets is a lot higher than expected once the new stadium is built they will find a way to expand the capacity by adding a third tier.

Is it even possible to build the stadium up to 50k seats in the future, for the case, stadium is mostly "overfilled" (like man united did)? 'Cause i see the roof is made of glass and this might be a problem for a possible 'enlargement'. Anyone here with architecture experience?

40.000 or not, can you imagine the atmosphere in there? It will be like in England, but with Italian supporters who make twice the noise. For any opposing team coming to play us at home it's going to be a nightmare. The new stadium should improve our results on the field.

40,000 is enough. Stadium will be full at every match and 40,000 fans will create perfect atmosphere around the pitch. What else do you need?

Owning our own stadium which brings us shit loads of cash, already 5 million euro in profit after being out of Serie A and missing cash from CL for 2 years, a great primavera that produces amazing talents, the team with most fans in Italy which means a lot of shirts are being sold. We are going to be so fucking rich in a few years and best of all is that we don't have to rely on a Sugar daddy like Moratti or Berlusconi.

So damn proud, forza Juve!

No fuck this board, for not signing Messi, Ronaldo and Kaka. How I love being self efficent. Not in debt and having a quality squad too. We will be a model club in terms of finances in a few years.
