Even when its not destroyed its hard to grow grass inside the stadium because it doesn't get enough sunlight.
I think that you are wrong in here. New stadiums are built like that to allow a lot of sunlight on field for grass to grow properly.

Thats huge problem for San Siro stadium, because of the roof and stadium position there isn't sunlight and because of that they have to change whole turf 4-5 times a year, which costs a lot.

Those pvc stuctures on stadium roof are solely there to allow more sunlight on the field.
