Here you cant make even 1 major error, but you can make 11 minor ones.

And you can have 7 negative points on the theory test. It has 35 questions, the first 10 questions have 1 negative point for a misstake, the socond 15 have 2 and the last 10 3 negative points.

My driving test was a joke.......I think I had to go around a block or something and the lady couldn't care less.

The joy of driving kinda wears off unless you have a powerful car........or unless it's cold and my car can then breathe better and I can gun it.


35 lessons should be enough.......in fact, it sounds like too much. Are all the driving laws as strict as that?

Only the laws for getting your license are that strickt, after that it's a joke.

We have a bunch of street racers who have like 100 traffic offences against them yet the police cant stop them.

That's kinda like Egypt.......I think the driving test includes a reverse slalom that you have to do without touching a single cone.....ridiculous. Of course you can also get it without even setting foot in a car if you know people. In my city, I can count the no. of traffic lights on one hand.

How Cairo's traffic even works properly is beyond me, I didnt see one traffic accident while I was there.


EDIT: It's no problem to pass here either, if you know some people or have money. My dad could probably pull a few strings to get me to pass, but he doesnt want to. He says I have to learn to drive properly.

Where I lived, there are rarely fender benders... but when an accident does happen, it's chaos. Cars flipped over, bent around poles, ...a mess really. :down:

it's a mad house driving there... If you drive at the maximum speed, you'll still get run-over and tail-gated (even on the right lane! ) I've heard of forigners who wear helmets while driving there

people take U-turns from the far right lane (in a 3 lane road).... stuff like that...

it's not too hard to pass the drivers test there... (paralell parking and stuff like that) , but the hard part is to stay alive the first couple of weeks driving.

The main North-South higway is basically 2 lanes with no markings whatsoever and a canal on each side.


Honestly.....I've seen it with my own eyes.....four big lorries going one direction......each one trying to pass the other. I saw that head on as my Dad was driving and I thought to myself this is it. Somehow they managed to leave us a little space to squeeze through without falling in the water.

Another time, my Dad was driving and pretty much the same scenario.....he tried to pull over to the right to avoid it and one of the lorries ended up taking out his rearview mirror and put a line on the side of the car.

Majed.....same thing in Egypt.......when accidents do happen, they're horrible. There's this highway between Cairo and the Suez Canal area that's called "The Road of Death." And we wanted to host WC 2010.....pleaaaaaaase.

Wow Z, I didn't have to take any lessons to drive. All I had to do was spend six months driving with my parents. Then, when I took the test, I passed it with flying colors. Driving is very easy. Don't sweat it. Ha, I speed everywhere and I've still not even got a ticket yet.

Well it depends. If you are driving an automatic car somewhere that isnt busy it will be easy. Try driving a manual through London :groan:

I thought the theory test was simple. Its common sense really, I didnt look over anything for it and got full marks.

Shadowfax we still dont have any mimumum amount of lessons before you can do the test.

My practical driving test wasnt so bad. And I wouldnt recommend talking to the instructor, I was talking to mine and he told me to stop talking . I almost knocked over a guy on a bike, but apart from that it was ok and i passed.

Whoa! 35 lessons? what is this test about driving some truck in a street with blind people?

Here getting a licence is quite easy, you do the theoric exam and have to pass it with more than 60 points of 90, then to do the practic exam the person in charge tells you to go and drive around the block and to keep your lights on. Keeping the lights on is the "sign" that youre doing the test (the instructor doesnt even go with you!).
After that you have to park in reverse between two cones, then come out and park between another two cones. If you fail any of the two exams just offer some money to whoever is in charge and youre all set

Down here you can pass some money to the instructor and he will pass you.

Maybe its easy there because there isnt as much death by dangerous driving. And dont you even meet another car in the test? Why bother even having a test

What you can also do Zlatan is get ur friend who has a car already to follow you on the test. Drive behind you, easing you up a little, if u know what I mean.

in my country lebanon, u can just sit home and get ur license, u just pay little more and u get it without doing any test..
