On another note, I cant beleive that Trap hasnt seen that we have no creativity wat so ever!

And that's about everything Azzurri lack right now. So yeah, at the end I do blame him for everything. He got another chance last night to somehow change his system and to try and make the WC fiasco look better with lining up the team and guiding them to a big win. He failed to do that, against Slovenia for God's sake!!! He had no plan whatsoever, lined up the "old" team with a few changes that needed to be done, cause the players were injured and then at half time completely changed the team with new, talented players. He should have, IMVHO, made a mix of this two teams and go with something like:

------------- Buffon ------------
-- Cannavaro ---- Nesta -- X --
Oddo - Ambrosini - Brighi - Zauri
---------- Doni/Pirlo -----------
------- DP ------- Marazzina/Maccarone

I'm not gonna argue with that, but do tell me (being a policeman and all) why 7 or 8 policemen had to go down soo hard on the guy that ran on the pitch (just ran with the slovenian flag and it didn't look like he's trying to hurt a player or something)?!? It's not like he could escape, since he did fell on the ground while trying to climb back on the stands. Our players had to intervene to stop the kicking!

Well policemen especially Italian policemen have always been a little overzealous in handling such matters but the guy who ran onto the pitch when there has been crowd trouble was really looking for trouble

First of all, once a guy runs onto the field, you have to think of the players safety. I mean, you dont know if this guys a nut job or not. Who's to say that he wasnt going to go after Buffon with a weapon or something( or a firebomb !!!)

I personally thought that the police took it easy on him. Either because the camera's were on them (Rodney King) ,or they didnt want to give the Slovenian fans more reason to start a full-blown riot !!!

Here in the states, if a guy runs onto the field during a baseball, football, or any other pro sporting event ,there is no question that he is going to get beat down !! Players safety is the number one priority in these situations.

My personal feeling is that I would have like to seen Trap go up in the stands to calm the crowd !!!!

The guy was holding up a slovenian flag. It was a political provocation, the people from north Italy know it and so do the people from Slovenia. He was not there to hurt anyone, I'm giving my right arm for this!

Easy?!? I haven't seen many cases where police grabs the "running on the pitch" guy, but usually he's just pushed to the ground, searched, cuffed and taken away. And they stopped because our players intervened!

The policemen that were on the game were supposed to be special units from Padova, specialized for calcio hooligans. One would expect a smarter approach than beating them up, which makes the idiots even angrier, starting with searching them proparly when they went into the stadium, rather then just letting them by

Yes it is, but it can be handled in another way. The police, by getting so violent, is no better from the guy that wanted to hurt the players! And I'll rather pass the comment on the police in the States, cause I'm still under the influence of that video tape that circled the world a month or two ago.

That's like sending a goat to the wolf! That goes for both fans :D

I can sum this up in a few sentences.

First of all, those IDIOTS who were throwing fireworks at Buffon should have been thrown out of the stadium. They weren't !!

Those same idiots were charging the police in the stands, then standing right in front of the police raising their fists to them. Again, they should have been thrown out of the stadium, THEY WEREN'T !!!!

From what I seen on RAI, I did NOT see the police beat him up !!! Political statement or not STAY OFF THE DAMN FIELD !!!!

As a police officer, we can't always predict what someone is going to do once their on the field, and neither can you !!!! Your being quite liberal about this situation, their HAS to be action taken in these situations- its not like those Slovenian fans were behaving themselves, and you know that !!!!!

As for the video you seen last month with the American police, all I can say is that I NEVER touch someone once their in handcuffs, you obviously can't judge all of us by what one fool did !!!!

If the police bothered enough to search them before the entrance there wouldn't be any fireworks during the game.

They should be yeah, right after they threw out the italian fans, who started to provoke. You might pick up an italian newspaper to find out what really happend (also before the game) than what was shown on italian TV.

You didn't pay much attention then I guess. I saw the game on RAI and they showed the police beating that guy and so did the rest of the world!

Believe me I'm regreting the day those idiots were born! I'm just saying that things could be differently done to slightly avoid all this. To let the match be played in Trieste was a stupid idea and although the Trieste officials and our football association said that there could be problems, the FIGC didn't want to move it in another city. Me and my friends didn't go the game just because it was played there, because one could predict what will go on and we definitely didn't want to end up hurt or with smashed or even burned cars, like the rest of our fans. Then there's also the searching thingy. Someone could really end up shot or stabed with the police doing such an excellent job!

No I can't and I'm trying not to, but it's kind of hard to look by once you see something like this.

I guess you can sterotype ANYBODY from what 1 person or group does.

I dont judge you differently after seeing what the Slovenian hooligans did, and you should not do the same to me !!!

I'll look back at the game tape to see if I missed something with the Italian police.

Not much more than the first time.

Last night, in Chicago a father and son decided to climb over the first base line fence to get onto the baseball field during a White Sox and Royals game, and decided to attack the first base coach from behind for no apparent reason.

These 2 idiots also had a knife and decided to attack this 54 year old man with it, causing cuts and swelling.
Its a good thing that the players from BOTH benches came out and beat the shit out of these 2 clowns.

The morale of the story is that if anyone has the stupid idea of going out onto the field during a game, THEN THEY DESERVE THE BEATING THEY GET !!!!!

You dont see the players going up into the stands, so the fans should stay OFF the field !!!

We have talked about this already and all I can say is that I disagree.

I don't have the slightest idea how things work on a baseball stadium, I mean if you are checked before entering or not; I know that you are checked here, for every sport event and for big events even with a metal detector. Sometimes they even take away the coins, so you can't throw them on courts/pitches.
