I watched the match, and the main thing that sticks in my mind is that after 120 minutes, we couldnt score 1 damn goal on Inter

Trez's goal was correct, no question about it, but we needed another goal, and couldnt produce. We worked the ball around well, hit some posts, and even had an open net that DP couldnt convert on.... we failed to convert !!!

Lets just hope that it is just the reason (excuse) of trying to find form....

otherwise , we did no better offensively than last year, against 'Pool

Always a good counterpoint, Desmond. I wasn't so sure of it myself in real time (well, while watching it on a small screen via PPLive, which doesn't count for much)... but the replay made it painfully clear.

I'm willing to cut the refs some slack in those cases. This is just proof that we don't get all the questionable calls to go our way like the rest of the league will profess. But Vinman is right in that whether we got that goal or not, it was clear that we had to find a way to at least score one goal and we couldn't. Something we'll have to tune this season.

I think the worst player for our team yesterday was Del Piero, no question, he looked ok from spot kicks but thats it, bad passes and lost of ball control was too frequent.

Neddy played under par and Camo too....

Ibra is still his old self, he shows more confidance now but he really should have controled the ball better on the 2 vs. 1 situation where Trez would have been wide open to score. Although overall Ibra did very well, I expect more from him.

Aside from that I liked our team, I believe we had strength and character as we dominated most of the game.

Juve was a shit on this mutch. When they went in front of the field, they always did stupid thinks like heelings and others. I don't want to think that the match was fixed because all Europe was playing Juve on Bet, but the team was'nt play so serius to convince me.
At the end i am not matter about the supercoppa, but if we want to win the CL we must play more seriusly.

"The beauty of football is just like this: we created many goal chances, we scored a valid goal that’s been disallowed, we hit the post; they did two strikes and made one goal......We accept the field’s verdict".
Fabio Capello doesn’t hide his bitterness after the Super Cup challenge against Inter. The Bianconeri didn’t gather from the many chances, playing in the end a great game: "We deserved much more – continues the manager – I’m happy for the performance, and I want to congratulate everyone, because they played a splendid match, showing to be a strong team. Also under the physical view we kept on until the end and I have no one to blame. Unfortunately it was the same as last season’s game; we conceded one goal over one shot too. It’s not easy not giving up to Inter, yet they created danger only on the goal’s occasion with the shot by Adriano. For the rest it was us creating major problems to their defence, but we didn’t make it to win. My compliments to Inter for how they made use of the two chances created".

Prova tv: tre giornare di squalifica a Samuel
22 08 2005

I also forgot to mention that I was impressed with Zlatan for keeping his composure

I was happy to see Materazzi injured as a result of play, and not a cheap shot by Ibra

Spitting’ Samuel handed ban Monday 22 August, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inter’s Walter Samuel has been suspended for three matches after spitting at Pavel Nedved of Juventus.

The Italian football authorities have handed Samuel the ban, after TV evidence from Saturday’s Italian Super Cup match was evaluated.

Footage shows the Argentine, who only arrived from Real Madrid in the summer, spit at the Czech ace in Inter’s 1-0 win.

The former Roma central defender is now set to miss the Serie A matches against Treviso, Palermo and Lecce.

Inter are likely to appeal against the punishment, especially as the player himself has pleaded his innocence.

"I may have spat but it wasn’t targeted at Nedved, it was aimed at the ground," stated the South American.

Nedved himself said: "I’ve been told of what happened but I didn’t realise anything at the time."

The statistics:
For our last 3 games against inter we created much more chances than they did, only for the last game we had 7 shots on their goal, they had only two,one was the goal.
The game before this one(Seria A 20.04.05 )pretty much the same,Cruz scored from some undefined situation.
But whenever inter play against milan they are at the same situation as we are against inter.
What does it say, that inter is very different opponent for us,and no matter what the situation is ,the match against them is going to be hard in the future, espacially now when they are encouraged.

I am still surprised that the italian federation did not comment on the issue of the two yellow cards for zanneti , this can happen anytime again , by the way this and the diallowed goal caused the defeat
