I'm surprised Hamsik is still loyal to Napoli, with Raiola being your agent and all. And as far as I can see Raiola is not his agent anymore so I guess he fired him when Raiola couldn't stop forcing him to leave :D

Sarri: "Juventus? A team that gets 49 points out of 51 is extraordinary. If they maintain that pace, it’s tough for us to catch them."

I love this kind of stuff tbh, thanks :D

I looked at doing something similar to this for my local region, but English counties are much smaller. I'd have to include West Mids, Warks, Leics, Worcs, Notts, Derbys, Staffs into one 'Heart of Mercia' or something :D
:D

In Australia, we could do our very own State of Origin like we do in Rugby League. NSW would be the best team (by far, historically too IMO), then Victoria and SA would be next.

In terms of Serie A, I'd love to see 3 mega-teams from Papal Lands, Kingdom of Two Sicilies and Kingdom of Piemonte/Sardinia (Savoys), we should do it :D

Galatasaray banned from Europe
Football Italia18 Minutes Ago

Comments
Galatasaray have been given a ban from UEFA competitions after failing to comply with Financial Fair Play.

The Turkish side had breached the regulations, and like Italian sides Inter and Roma had agreed to limit spending for the next two seasons.

However, the Istanbul giants failed to comply with the agreement, and will therefore be banned from European competition next season, or the season after if they fail to qualify.

“The Adjudicatory Chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) today announced that Galatasaray AŞ will be excluded from participating in the next UEFA club competition for which they would otherwise qualify in the next two seasons,” a statement from UEFA announced.

“This decision was taken after Galatasaray failed to comply with the terms of the settlement agreement that it entered with the CFCB Chief Investigator in May 2014 under Article 15 of the Procedural rules governing the UEFA CFCB.

“The Turkish club has also been ordered to limit the overall aggregate cost of the employee benefits expenses of all its players in each of the next two reporting periods.”

Serie A cannot cope with the increase in costs and reported a €365m loss, with most clubs indebted and Parma already bankrupt.

After a €220m loss in the 2013-14 season, Serie A is in even worse shape than before. The deficit figure is not inclusive of the Gialloblu's accounts from last year, which would make the loss even greater.

According to a report published by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A's revenue in and of itself remains largely stable at €1.84 billion, even showing a slight increase in value. However the costs have risen and the profits from the transfer market have fallen this year, leading to an unbalanced financial system. This is in contrast to the international situation, as the English Premier League, the Bundesliga, the Liga and the French Ligue 1 are all stable or making a profit. Correspondingly, Serie A cannot boast any of the international titles that go to these other championships, such as the Champions League or the Ballon d'Or.

Serie A's total debt increased from €1.6 to €1.7 billion last year. The debts towards banks, at €1.1 billion, increased by 11 per cent, while those towards suppliers increased by 6 per cent and stand at €400m.

Most of these debts are not due to long-term investments such as stadium projects and their repayment cannot be taken for granted. Teams such as Roma and Inter have most of their assets already pawned with the credit institutes.

The Nerazzurri's debt is of €140m while that of the Giallorossi is €41m. The President of the team from the capital, James Pallotta, will likely sell some of his major players to finance his debt should his team not make it into the Champions League.

Milan are also in trouble, as last year President Silvio Berlusconi's company Fininvest had to inject €150m into the club to keep it from being crushed under its debts.

In Serie A, 12 out of 19 clubs are reportedly in debt, with Genoa and Sampdoria looking shaky too, and only a few appear to be in a healthy condition, like Juventus or Torino.

After Parma's bankrupty a number of norms were introduced by the FIGC to limit the effects of the crisis, but there seems to be still a lot of work to do to save the championship.

Serie A finances paint a worrying picture
With losses having increased to €365 million compared to €220m just 12 months prior, clubs have work to do in order to improve the financial standing of the league. Analysis by Marco Iaria of La Gazzetta dello Sport

he verdict is in and the financial situation of Serie A clubs is officially worrying, with just seven clubs from the 2014/15 season not recording losses.

In total, Italy’s top-flight clubs have suffered bigger financial losses relative to a season ago, with €365 million last year compared to €220m just 12 months prior.

The likes of Inter, AC Milan and Roma are the biggest culprits, while Juventus stand amongst the few teams not in the red. Only 19 clubs were considered, given that Parma went bankrupt last season.
