Probably taken completely out of context or even changed though. Interviews are incredibly boring these days and he even says he was honoured to play for Inter right there in the interview. I'm sure he gave the reporter nothing to work with, but they spun it the worst possible way.

Why? because he's saying they did not play for any trophies?
I kinda do consider that statement disrespectful towards his former club. Eventhough they've been struggling in the last few years they are still important part of calcio's history. Also this:

In Italy the training sessions are really boring and sometimes you don’t even use the ball.
“I also believe it was a mistake to modify my natural tactical position.”
“In any case, I was happy to leave Inter, because I don’t know how it would’ve ended up there.
No tact whatsoever. Especially when you consider him pledging his loyalty only a few months before and saying how happy he is there.

His interview for one of Croatian paper's in July:
What do I want? I want to stay at Inter and win trophies here. I recently extended my contract and have no desire of leaving.

The way Inter treats their players and potential targets they deserve every bit of statements like this
How is that?

Buying and dumping players wholesale is damaging to their careers. If it was only one player, I would place the blame on the player, but what happened to Shaqiri is likely going to happen to Montoya and Ljajic. Looks like they buy the player without thinking if they need him or not, and after realizing he is not good enough or not suitable to their plan they force them out.
